A host-side mod for PEAK that stops other players from removing items from backpacks.

Host-only: the player who hosts the session is the only one who needs to install this. Other players don't need it. No dedicated server required — it works in a normal hosted lobby.

Features

• Block thieves — while enabled, non-owners cannot lift items out of a backpack.
• Scope — protect just the host's own backpack, or everyone's backpack.
• Owner rules — a dropped backpack keeps its first owner, or the most recent toucher.
• Faint / death release — a backpacker who is knocked out past a grace window (or dies) has their backpack unlocked and becomes lootable by anyone.
• Runtime hotkey — press the hotkey to flip protection on/off mid-session, with a small toast.

Installation

1. Install BepInEx 5 for PEAK (any 5.4.x build — the mod lists BepInExPack_PEAK as a dependency, so a mod manager will pull it automatically).
2. Drop this mod into BepInEx/plugins/BackpackLock.
3. Launch the game; a config file is auto-generated.
4. Host your world and press the hotkey. Testing with a friend is recommended.

Host-side only: clients don't need the mod.

Configuration

Edit BepInEx/config/Vector.BackpackLock.cfg after the first launch.

Setting	Default	What it does
Enabled	true	Master switch for all protection.
Hotkey	B	Key to toggle protection at runtime (Unity KeyCode).
Scope	Everyone	Everyone = every player's backpack is protected; HostOnly = only the host's.
OwnershipMode	First	First = first owner keeps it; Last = most recent toucher owns it.
ShowInGameAlert	true	Show the toast when toggling.

LoseOwnershipOnFaint	true	A passed-out owner eventually loses their lock.
FaintGraceSeconds	3	Seconds passed-out before the lock drops.
ProtectDropped	true	Protect backpacks on the ground.
ProtectWorn	true	Protect backpacks worn on the back.
