PeakSelfHostedPhoton
Redirects PEAK's Photon Cloud connection to a self-hosted Photon server (LAN / EasyTier). All players must set the same server Address in the config. Includes network jitter tolerance (60s disconnect timeout).Peak SelfHosted Photon
Redirects PEAK's Photon Cloud connection to a self-hosted Photon server, enabling LAN / virtual-LAN (e.g. EasyTier) multiplayer without touching the Photon Cloud.
Works with: PEAK v2.1.a (Steam AppID 3527290)
How it works
Patches the game's Photon setup at runtime so every player connects to your own Photon Server (LoadBalancing) instead of the Photon Cloud. Nothing in the game directory is modified — disable the mod and everything is back to vanilla.
Setup (all players, including the host)
- Install
BepInExPack_PEAK(dependency, installed automatically). - Install this mod.
- After the first game launch, edit the generated config at
BepInEx/config/Peak.SelfHostedPhoton.cfg:
[Server]
Address = <host machine's server IP> # e.g. 10.126.126.1 for an EasyTier host
Port = 5055
FixedRegion = eu # keep as eu (required by the join flow)
Every player must point to the same server address.
Hosting
- Run a Photon Server (LoadBalancing) on the host machine — UDP 5055/5056.
- Host launches the game, clicks Create Game.
- Friends join through the normal Steam invite flow (ESC in-game → invite → accept).
- Steam Online is still required (it is used for lobby/invite relay); the game data itself no longer goes through the Photon Cloud.
Network tolerance
- Client disconnect timeout is raised to 60 s (config:
[Network] DisconnectTimeoutMs), so short network jitter does not drop you. - Pair with a reconnect mod (e.g. Reconnect Catchup) for automatic rejoin after longer drops.
Limitations
- Self-hosted Photon evaluation license allows 20 concurrent users (fine for 4-player games).
- Voice (PhotonVoice) is not yet supported on the self-hosted server.
