The Legend of R.E.P.O: A Link to the Duel
📜 The Story So Far...
The timeline has fractured. Due to a catastrophic dimensional tear in the Company's harvesting sectors, the Great Sea has dried into dark, concrete corporate corridors, and the sacred relics of Hyrule have been buried deep within shifting, unstable pocket dimensions. To make matters worse, a terrifying Crimson Moon hangs suspended over the wasteland—a terminal cosmic clock ticking down to absolute annihilation.
You are a Scavenger of Destiny, bound by a brutal contract to the ultimate ancient evil: Corporate Overdraft.
⚠️ DIMENSIONAL ANOMALY NOTE: Long-range telemetry confirms our current facility coordinates have suffered a severe spatial convergence event, partially merging corporate infrastructure with an ancient 64-bit reality.
Equipped with nothing but a dimming lantern, a toggleable Lens of Truth (Third-Person Mode), and your wits, you must dive headfirst into chaotic, merged dungeon-mazes. Evade the faceless horrors guarding the ruins, salvage lost Hylian valuables, and haul them back to the mysterious Gerudo-run Lottery Shop before the clock strikes zero.
Can you pay off your blood debt in shiny gold Rupees, or will you be crushed beneath the falling sky? It's dangerous to go alone... hit your quota.
🛠️ The Mechanics (How the Corporate Reality Changed)
Instead of a standard corporate shift, the dimensional anomaly has completely rewritten your equipment, interface, and environment. Here is how your gameplay has changed under the hood:
- The Corporate Economy ➔ Shiny Gold Rupees: The Company's financial logging database has been corrupted. The standard corporate dollar sign ($) is completely gone. Your entire ledger, item store prices, and financial debt are tracked entirely in glowing, metallic N64-style Gold Rupees using custom interface code.
- The Extraction Truck ➔ The Lottery Stall: Your delivery vehicle's storefront has physically mutated into a bright, striped carnival booth straight out of Majora's Mask. It features a functional drop-slot for transactions and a tiny cow statue on the counter that you have to physically jump over and pet if the store computer locks up on an error.
- The Target Scrap ➔ Lost Relics & Potions: The standard industrial junk you usually collect for profit has been replaced with valuable ancient triangles, glowing artifacts (like the Fused Shadow), and volatile chemical potions that give you temporary physical status buffs when consumed.
- The Sector Maps ➔ Unstable Glitched Dungeons: The level layouts are structurally glitched. Hallways and rooms from completely different facilities are stitched together randomly into unpredictable, chaotic mazes. To survive the darkness, your corporate flashlight has been upgraded to a high-intensity steady beam.
- The Shift Timer ➔ The Ominous Moon: The extraction deadline isn't just a digital clock anymore. A massive, terrifying celestial moon with a glaring face hangs directly over the facility, tracking your remaining time and adding immense pressure to get back to the truck before the shift ends.
- The Camera Matrix ➔ Optional Third-Person View: To help you navigate these chaotic new layouts, your scavenger suit has a new tactical overlay. By pressing your toggle button, you can instantly swap out of first-person view into an over-the-shoulder perspective for better spatial awareness, and snap back instantly whenever you want.
- Input Translation ➔ Dynamic Controller Support: The movement engine has been modernized. Whether you play on Keyboard/Mouse or use a Controller, actions flow seamlessly—such as automatically breaking out of a crouch directly into a full sprint without clunky input lag.
🛠️ Configuration & Cross-Play Bindings
- The Universal Camera Swap (Keyboard & Controller): The pack natively maps the third-person camera toggle to the keyboard
Xkey. To maintain seamless dynamic hot-swapping while using a controller, simply open your Steam Controller Layout settings and map your Right Stick Click (R3) to trigger the keyboardXkey. This lets both control styles toggle the camera layout instantly! - Flashlight Adjustments: If you customize your flashlight brightness settings in the main menu, turn the light off and on again (by crouching/uncrouching) to force the Unity game engine to refresh the beam intensity.
