Install or update
- Use ReSkate 1.1.3 or newer, with its official costume registration merge fix.
- Choose Install .zip in ReSkate Launcher and select this complete ZIP.
- Enable All Skate 3 Cosmetics almost. Keep one version enabled; disable older S3, S3-Cosmetics, S3-Marquee or Skate 3 Pack copies.
- Start the game normally. Other mods can remain enabled.
The ZIP is prepared for sharing and Thunderstore, with the manifest, README and Skate 3 cover icon at its root. No additional helper, modified game DLL or package dependency is included.
In game
Find S3 items in their clothing/accessory categories. Full characters appear under Apparel > Costumes. Choose S3 Big Black Sumo for native Sumo physics. Costumes allow hats and glasses.
Every S3 hat now allows ReSkate's selectable hat-hair variants, including beanies, ushankas, crowns and the tiara. Helmets retain the native helmet hair profile; other hats request cap hair. Hair built into character costumes remains part of their mesh. Individual hair/head combinations can still overlap.
Changes in 0.5.3
- Moved the ushanka 18 mm forward on all six LODs, keeping its 0.5.2 height and size.
- Expanded all 325 hat appearance presets from three to fifteen neutral region-colour controls, covering all five native regions like the shoe presets. Existing textures and appearance values remain unchanged. This is a compatibility attempt; visible Special/RGB behaviour still needs in-game confirmation.
- Retained the 0.5.2 clothing deformation repairs, model-first ordering, other fits and AI textures.
Changes in 0.5.2
- Synchronized the separate deformation buffers with the repaired geometry on all 35 top and 10 bottom models. The previous update changed their base meshes but left stale deformation references, so the old sleeve flaps and seam defects could remain in game.
- Kept the six native body-shape targets and made their displacements agree across repaired seams, for all six LODs.
- Corrected all 481 top and 39 bottom appearance presets so Special colour effects select the fabric regions. Unused donor stitching colours had caused the native filter to skip the neutral fabric. Shoes and hats retain their existing region controls; glasses retain their lens colours.
- Sorted each S3 category with one entry per distinct model first, then the additional texture variants. The S3 section remains below normal items.
- Lowered the ushanka 12 mm from 0.5.1, halfway back toward its earlier placement.
- Retained the AI textures, thumbnails, hat-hair rules, shoe fitting and other existing content.
Known issue: Special costume colours
Costume RGB/gradient rendering is still unresolved. The previous 0.5.0 colour-binding change did not fix the visible effect. The game's log reports active costume colour animation, but the custom costume can remain its original colour. This update retains the bindings and does not claim to fix that material/rendering problem. The pack does not unlock the Special tab.
Validation and limits
For 0.5.3, all 325 hat presets were read back with fifteen neutral colour controls and unchanged original parameters. The official Special animation logic passes gradient, solid, gold and OFF restoration for those controls. The ushanka was checked against the reference head in offline front/side renders; all six native LODs retain their UVs and skinning.
All 54,396 native payloads outside this update were verified unchanged, preserving the 0.5.2 deformation fixes and model-first sorting. Official ReSkate 1.1.3 merge checks passed with the pack alone, all 19 other local mods, and the full load order reversed. Unknown or future mods can still conflict if they overwrite the same assets.
No game or launcher UI was opened or controlled. Hat RGB rendering remains unverified; the earlier three controls were detected by the runtime but did not visibly tint the hats. Full costume RGB is also unresolved. Offline authoring checks do not prove GPU rendering works.
