MSC Longest Belly Slide
A multiplayer longest Belly Slide throwdown. Place a flag and starting line, compete for the longest slide, and return to the start between attempts.MSC Longest Belly Slide
A multiplayer ReSkate throwdown where skaters compete for the longest Belly Slide past a start line. Each skater has three attempts. The server manages separate lobbies, results and match timing; each client measures its own slides.
Host a match
- Join a hosted or dedicated ReSkate multiplayer session with this plugin installed on the server and participating clients.
- Choose Throwdowns → Longest Belly Slide. This opens the dedicated Belly Slide Lobby, styled after MSC S.K.A.T.E.'s lobby, rather than ReSkate's native throwdown setup.
- Select player capacity (2–10) and match time (30–600 seconds), then choose Place Belly Slide flag.
- Resume skating, stand at the return/start position and press E (controller X) to place the custom world marker. Backspace (controller B) cancels placement.
- Walk ahead of the marker to the intended start line, face the slide direction and press F7 or LB + D-pad Up. The line is placed on the ground at your feet, no more than 30 metres ahead of the flag.
- Start from the host's marker with E / X, or reopen the custom lobby from the Throwdowns card or Insert → Longest Belly Slide and choose START LONGEST BELLY SLIDE.
Join or leave
Other players walk within four metres of a waiting Belly Slide marker and press E / X to join the matching lobby. The lobby shows the enrolled skaters, timer and line status. Several Belly Slide lobbies can run independently in the same session; a player can belong to only one Belly Slide lobby at a time.
You can close the lobby screen without leaving the match, reopen it from the mode card or Insert menu, and use its confirmed Leave / End for everyone controls. During a match, Start / Options opens the custom match menu, as in MSC S.K.A.T.E. The Insert menu also provides a separate confirmation-based leave/end path. The host ending or leaving closes that host's lobby, not unrelated lobbies.
Match flow and HUD
The host can only start once at least two skaters have joined. Place the start line, then start from the custom lobby or the host's flag. Everyone in the lobby sees the same server-timed GET READY: 3, 2, 1, GO! countdown. All enrolled skaters are gathered at the flag before play begins, and the configured game clock only begins after the countdown.
During play, the custom MSC HUD displays a live player standings list (names, best distances and attempts used), your own attempts remaining and the match clock. It updates as the server accepts each skater's result. The leaderboard is drawn by this plugin instead of relying on a native results card.
When every player has completed three attempts, or the time expires, a central winner/results screen appears for approximately 5 seconds. It shows the winning skater and the complete final ranking; a player with the winning score sees YOU WIN!. If nobody records a qualifying slide, the game shows NO QUALIFYING SLIDES rather than naming a false winner. The room then closes automatically. The results are shown for five seconds.
MSC activity rewards
On a completed match, the winner can receive 100 MSC per other skater enrolled when the match started (e.g. 100 for two starters, 300 for four). This uses the same reskate.server.msc_skate_reward bridge and receipt confirmation as MSC S.K.A.T.E.; no changes to the MSC server executable or wallet bridge are needed. The reward is shown on the win screen only when the server confirms it as paid. If the bridge is unavailable or rejects the payment, the win screen reports that the reward is unavailable.
A reward requires at least two skaters to actively submit an attempt and at least one valid qualifying Belly Slide. A host cancelling, quitting, or disconnecting ends the match without a payout. If departures reduce a running match below two skaters, it ends without a payout. An ordinary match finishing through the timer or through all remaining participants using their three attempts is eligible. A no-score match does not pay. Other participants leaving a match does not by itself grant a payout.
During the countdown, match or results, use Start / Options to open the custom match/quit screen. Choose Quit Throwdown, then confirm leaving; the host can also choose End throwdown for everyone with confirmation. The Insert → Longest Belly Slide page provides a separate leave/end confirmation. The quit screen does not take over other throwdowns.
Playing and scoring
Slide across the eight-metre-wide ground line. The longest qualifying Belly Slide wins; the game reads the named trick using reskate.score.current() and trick_notes. Three attempts per skater are allowed, including failed bails and failed attempts that crossed the line. Walking without crossing the line does not consume an attempt.
Players are automatically returned to the lobby flag during the pre-game countdown and after a bail or slide ends. Existing ReSkate Return to Marker controls are not disabled. The dedicated live player list and try counter remain visible during the match, and the complete results/winner screen appears at the end. The match ends after all active participants use three attempts, or when the configured match timer expires. Valid long slides are not artificially capped at 1,200 metres or 60 seconds.
Other skaters can see the join marker while the room is waiting. The separate start line is visible only to enrolled skaters, including during the game and results phase.
Installation
Version 0.1.9 is required on the server and each player for the new countdown and results protocol. Both release and source archives include the supplied transparent MSC Belly Slide logo as flag-logo.png and icon.png.
Extract the release ZIP so that Mods/MSC_Longest_Belly_Slide/ contains manifest.json, reskate-plugin.json, flag-logo.png and the plugin directory. Install the same version on the multiplayer server (Plugins directory for a dedicated server). This is a ReSkate Luau plugin; no binary modification is required.
