Changelog

2.1.1

  • New store thumbnail: the RailCoaster rail, with the KASSO stage behind it.

2.1.0

  • The mini ramp has a proper 4 m flat bottom again.
  • The giant KASSO letters and the MAIN GATE lettering are solid inside: no more seeing through the inside of the O.
  • No more downloaded cars. The parked cars and backstage trucks are gone, and the food truck is now a KASSO EATS trailer. The game's own traffic still drives the streets.
  • Pedestrians: the routes out of sight behind the upper level and across the main street are gone, there are fewer people on the west sidewalk, and a crowd walks the stage lawn.
  • New store description and README.

2.0.5

  • RailCoaster: the tuned rail from the 2.0.4 test is the rail now, on the centre line. The test lane is gone.
  • Course 1 roll-in: the railing trusses along the ramp sides are solid.
  • The Course 4 fast-travel stop moved back along the pink deck, for a longer run-up.
  • The mini ramp by the KASSO House is one continuous surface. The flat used to be a separate slab sitting 4 cm proud of the transitions.

2.0.4 (rail test)

  • Your latest Blender edits.
  • Side-by-side RailCoaster test, each lane with its own run-in and start line:
    • Lane A (west, CURRENT): the rail as it was.
    • Lane B (east, TUNED): the kinks rounded off on the grind line, 70 cm steps on the curves instead of 30 cm, S-bends swinging 0.6 m instead of 0.9 m, and a 6 cm rail instead of 8 cm.

2.0.3

  • Hand-tuned course edits made in Blender.

2.0.2

  • The inflatable stars on the Downhill's triangle corners are now solid.
  • The portal frames over the Course 1 roll-in are gone. The handrail trusses along its sides stay.
  • Grasshopper targets placed as in the Day 2 overhead shot. The first circle sits on the centre line, the second well to the west. The first oval is just east of centre, running down the pool. The second oval is back to the west, swung about 40 degrees toward the north-east. The pads run in a line to the goal.

2.0.1

  • Million Jump detail from the Day 2 onboard footage:
    • On the stage: one long green block with a round rail on top, in line with the Course 1 kicker.
    • A longer green downhill off the stage, with yellow blocks either side at the edge, into a kicker with a yellow lip.
    • The rising wall right behind the lip: a pink panel with green up-arrows, between two green towers on hazard-striped bases.
    • Landing: a raised black deck with handrails, then stairs down toward a graffiti wall.
  • The Grasshopper moved so its goal deck touches the Million Jump goal deck.

2.0.0

  • Million Jump LB rebuilt from the Day 2 course graphic:
    • It starts where Course 1 ends: off the pink deck and its kicker onto the stage.
    • On the stage, a green track runs across over two green boxes and a flat rail.
    • Off the east edge, a green drop with pink sides curls into a steep kicker. You fly between two green scaffold towers, over a wall, onto a raised black goal deck that ends by the Grasshopper's goal.
    • The wall is its own object (mj_wall), so you can raise or lower it in Blender.
    • The old Million Jump zone is gone.
  • The stage is clear for the line across it: the DJ booth is at the back and the east stairs are gone.
  • Downtown instead of the beach: no more ocean, boardwalk, seawall or buoys. Streets ring the festival block, and city blocks of walk-ups, offices and glass towers fill every direction.

1.9.7

  • The RailCoaster keeps the smooth rail; the 12-sided test lane is gone.
  • Smoother grind. The invisible grind line now has an even point every 30 cm along the curves, so every corner the board rolls over is the same small angle instead of an uneven string of 1-6 degree bumps. Straight runs between the kinks are single edges, and the kinks stay exact.

1.9.6 (rail test)

  • Side-by-side RailCoaster test: two identical rails in the pool, each with its own run-in and start line.
    • Lane A (west, labelled SMOOTH): a smooth 32-sided tube, ground on an invisible metal-rail grind line.
    • Lane B (east, labelled 12-SIDED): the solid 12-sided tube, ground off its own edges.

1.9.5

  • The RailCoaster is grindable again. The game only finds grind edges on sharp creases, so the smooth tube is now just the look. You grind an invisible metal-rail collider laid along its top every 10 cm, which keeps the kinks sharp.

1.9.4

  • The RailCoaster tube is now a true smooth cylinder: 32 sides with smooth shading, and every cross-section square to the rail, so it stays round through the kinks, the hump and the S-bends. It was a flat-shaded 12-sided tube with vertical cross-sections, which sheared on the slopes.

1.9.3

  • Grasshopper turned to match the Day 1 onboard shot. It runs north toward the wall just east of the stage. From the start platform the Course 1 building is ahead on the hill, the stage is on your left and the Million Jump is ahead against the wall.
  • Feather flags and two floodlights moved out of its way.

1.9.2

  • Grasshopper turned round to match the Day 1 overhead shot. The start platform is at the east end, by the sand slope up to street level, and the course runs west along the north wall toward the stage.
  • A sand slope in the east corner now climbs from the field to street level, like the one on the west side.
  • A green crowd lawn now sits in front of the stage, beside the RailCoaster.

1.9.1

  • The Grasshopper now matches the course graphic: it runs east along the wall from just east of the stage, starting by the stage.
  • Grasshopper targets are 10% bigger, with slightly shorter gaps between them.

1.9.0

  • Grasshopper rebuilt from the Day 1 TV edit and the course graphic:
    • 82 ft (25 m) pool, moved west to sit just east of the Million Jump. From the start, Million Jump is straight ahead and the stage ahead-left, as in the onboard shot.
    • A lower, shorter start platform: a dark deck, a green run-in with dark chevrons, mesh gates, railings wrapped in lime tape and flag poles.
    • The targets zig-zag down the pool. First a small and a big pink circle with green sides and a dark logo panel with a green arrow. Then two green ovals with purple sides, then three small purple pads. The pads now run along the line instead of across it.
    • Thicker targets on chunkier posts, stepping down to the goal deck.

1.8.9

  • There's a 1 inch (2.5 cm) gap between the RailCoaster tube and the sign panels under it, so the game only grinds the tube. Small steel brackets with no collision bridge the gap at each post.

1.8.8

  • The RailCoaster grinds like a real game rail. The tube uses the game's own Metal Rail surface with Round Rail (smooth grind) on, as the shipped round rails do. The sign panels under it are metal with edge grinding switched off, so you can't catch their edges.

1.8.7

  • RailCoaster rail sized against the people in the TV shots: an 8 cm tube on 0.5 m deep sign panels, standing on chunky 45 cm black columns with short steel stems.
  • The hump now only climbs back to the height of the flat between the kinks. After it the rail comes down well below where the hump started, then runs gently down through the S-bends.

1.8.6

  • The RailCoaster starts with the double kink from the TV edit: off the start deck, two straight, sharp-cornered steps down with a short flat between them. The round hump comes after that.

1.8.5

  • New RailCoaster profile from the side shot: a long, gentle slope down off the lip, one big hump, a steep drop, then S-bends that run gently downhill all the way to the goal deck, with no climbing in the bends.
  • The Course 2 fast-travel stop is now back against the wall on the pink deck, for a run-up of about 10 m to the rail.

1.8.4

  • RailCoaster rebuilt from the Day 1 TV edit:
    • 85 ft (26 m) of rail over an 8 m wide pool, with black and grey crash pads along both sides.
    • It's a true rail now: a 7 cm steel tube to grind, with pink and navy sign panels hanging under it and 25/50/75% stickers. It stands on single black posts on footings in the water.
    • A flat start platform: a pink run-in between grey decks, with the rail starting on the deck, a checkered start line, mesh gates at the lip and scaffold handrails.
    • The line runs: a drop off the lip, a hump, two rollers, then S-bends onto the goal deck.

1.8.3

  • Every fast-travel stop now faces the way its course starts. Course 1 looks down the roll-in.
  • Smoother banked corners. The start corner is wider, the bank builds up over a longer, softer run, and the bends have twice as many lane sections.
  • The ollie line now matches the event: the lane ends on a small purple disc, then two big discs, then a small disc joined to the lane that carries on (three 2 m gaps).
  • The stars round the Downhill are spiky inflatables, as in the onboard footage.

1.8.2

  • The ollie gaps between the circles are 2 m instead of 3.8 m. The last circle, the end torii and the corner stay where they were.

1.8.1

  • Back to the 1.8.0 course scale. The Downhill is now 200 m from the roll-in to the deck; the course graphic says 689 ft (210 m).
  • The main stage is the small brown deck from the course graphic (22 x 13.6 m, 0.8 m high), with a lower truss and everything on it scaled to fit.
  • The pink deck stands 2 m up. Its ramp drops steeply to the sand into a sharp 40-degree kicker, over a 3 m gap onto the stage.

1.8.0

  • Long Beach Downhill re-scaled to the Day 1 overhead shot:
    • The start runs straight past three torii into one tight banked corner. Only the two corners are banked now.
    • The legs run about 111 m from the start lane to the triangle turn, as at the event, and sit 14 m further west.
    • The ollie circles are a small disc and two big ones, about 4 m apart.
    • The end torii are spread along the inner leg. The last corner is one banked bend, and the rise to the deck comes after it.
  • The RailCoaster pool is 11 m wide, as at the event, and the pink deck reaches west to meet the end lane.
  • The host tower, a judges' stand and a media platform stand between the Downhill and the pool.

1.7.0

  • The hand-tuned triangle corners and stars are now part of the build.
  • Long Beach Downhill tightened to match the start-tower view:
    • The lane starts to curve right after the first torii, and that turn is banked.
    • The volcano sits at the foot of the sand bank.
    • Both legs of the triangle loop are shorter.
    • The ollie circles and the end torii run right up to the last turn, which is also banked.

1.6.6

  • Hand-tuned edits made in Blender.

1.6.5

  • Triangle corners reshaped from the approach and exit stills. The two faces are wider, longer and gentler (1.4 m apex), and their bases meet in the middle with no gap. A flat strip runs across the front, so there's no dip between them.
  • Stars: red lowest, yellow up and to the side, green highest, all on the upper face, as on the real ones.

1.6.4

  • Triangle corners: you have to ride them now. Each leg runs straight into its triangle's base, and the flat connector only spans the gap between the two triangles, so the way round is up and across the face. The faces are taller (1.7 m apex).
  • The stars on the triangles are spiky 3D inflatables set square to the slope.

1.6.3

  • Triangle corners now match the close-ups: one flat triangular face beyond each end of the U. You roll straight off the leg onto its base edge, carve up toward the raised apex, and come back down onto the flat connector between them. Stars sit on the faces.
  • Ollie circles: three discs level with the lane and three gaps. The last disc butts straight into the lane.
  • The last turn stays flat. The deck is lowered to 1.2 m, so the lane barely rises before rolling onto it.
  • Stage ramp: a long drop to a mellow 25-degree kicker lip, a 1.6 m gap, then a lower main stage.

1.6.2

  • Downhill finish: the pink deck is shorter, ending just past the RailCoaster start. The down ramp is bigger: it drops 1.5 m over 8.5 m with a kicker lip. The main stage moved west and sits lower, so the gap jump lands on it.

1.6.1

  • RailCoaster moved west: it now starts off the pink deck just before the base of the Downhill roll-in, as at the event.

1.6.0

  • Triangle corners rebuilt so the lane enters and leaves them flush across its full width, with the bank rising to a peak beyond the outer corner.
  • Ollie circles: back to the three big discs. The small fourth one is gone.
  • Downhill finish matches the event: a gentle dirt rise rolls flat straight onto the pink scaffold deck (the RailCoaster still starts off it), then a pink down ramp with a lip and a gap jump onto the main stage.

1.5.0

  • Long Beach Downhill rebuilt from the practice footage:
    • The site now has two levels: an upper street level behind a concrete retaining wall, and a sand bank down to the field.
    • The roll-in is wider, with a lime centre stripe and lime space-frame trusses instead of thin rails.
    • The lane is now the real 0.45 m raised box.
    • The volcano is smaller and concave on a green skirt, with crash mats round it. Its arch rail now sits on the summit cap instead of floating.
    • Real triangle banks at both U corners.
    • The ollie circles sit on bare sand, followed by three torii.
    • The finish climbs onto the scaffold deck and drops down a pink ramp onto the stage.
  • RailCoaster: starts off the scaffold deck in front of the wall, as at the event.
  • Grasshopper: turned round. You now start on the tall platform at the south end and hop toward the stage.

1.4.0

  • The whole site is re-laid out to match the official KASSO FEST event map:
    • A big stage building runs along the north, with the Downhill roll-in on its west end and the main stage in front.
    • Long Beach Downhill: west along the garage, then a long U running south with the volcano and the gap circles, back to the stage.
    • The RailCoaster (now Course 2) and the Grasshopper (now Course 3) run south from the west and east ends of the stage.
    • New Course 4: the Million Jump, in a fenced zone in front of the stage. It replaces the Pier Launch and its lagoon.
    • Moved to their event-map spots: host tower, food booth, food truck, GA lawn, KASSO letters, VIP zone, VIP bar, sponsor booth and bar tent.

1.3.0

  • The site is re-laid out from the drone shot and course graphic in the Day 1 video:
    • The Downhill roll-in now stands at the north-west and drops south along a new parking-garage wall.
    • The route runs over the volcano along the front, U-turns at the far corner, comes back across the gap circles, then heads north through the gates and down the pink ramp onto the stage.
    • The RailCoaster now runs east-west just south of the main stage, starting beside the Downhill finish.
    • The Grasshopper now runs east-west along the north fence, east of the stage.
    • The main stage is narrower and has moved west.

1.2.0

  • Courses reshaped from the official KASSO course graphics:
    • Long Beach Downhill: the roll-in now starts beside the main stage. The route runs west through three gates, banks round the corner, goes over the volcano with its arched summit rail, and U-turns round a pink bank wall. It comes back across three gap circles over open sand, then through the second gates, and drops down the pink ramp onto the main stage.
    • RailCoaster: starts from a tall scaffold and steps down two levels, then climbs over a curve and ends in S-bends. The rail is navy and red, all over water.
    • Grasshopper: starts from a tall platform. Two slanted circles, two slanted boards and three small rectangles each sit lower than the last, ending at the goal deck.

1.1.0

  • Courses rebuilt to match KASSO FEST Day 1:
    • Course 1 is now the Long Beach Downhill: an 11 m two-step roll-in, a 210 m lime lane, torii gates, a banked berm, Mt. Fuji with a crater ring rail, the arrow hip, purple discs and a pink run-up to the GOAL deck.
    • Course 2 is now the Grasshopper: a 27 m pool with eight post-mounted ollie targets.
    • Course 4 is now the RailCoaster: a pink-and-blue coaster box rail down a narrow water channel, with completion stickers.
  • The festival ground is sand, as at the event, with a paved avenue from the gate. The lagoon now only holds Course 3.
  • The VIP zone and host tower have moved, and there's a new graffiti wall at the Downhill goal.
  • Pause-map labels, fast travel and the loading screen are updated for the new courses.

1.0.0

  • First release, laid out from the KASSO FEST event map.
  • Four courses: Snake Run, Hop Islands, Pier Launch and Rail Bridge. Courses 2-4 cross the lagoon and finish up the stage bank.
  • Main stage with an LED wall, truss, a giant KASSO board on the roof and coloured night washes.
  • GA lawn with rideable KASSO letters, VIP zone deck, VIP bar, bar tent, sponsor booth, food booth, food truck, toilets and the host tower.
  • KASSO House with a mini ramp, plus a main gate with ticket booths, the perimeter fence and a parking lot.
  • Waterfront setting: harbour, promenades, palms, city skyline and hills. Native traffic and pedestrians.
  • Fast travel to the gate, each course, the stage and the KASSO House. Poster-style loading screen and labelled pause map.
