TRNSHD HUD Mod
Gothic chrome HUD with saved text sizing, real trick aliases, timers and a reversible background graphics performance preset.TRNSHD HUD Mod 0.3.13
Install through ReSkate Launcher -> Mods by importing TRNSHD_HUD_Mod.zip. Replace the existing installation and disable older TRNSHD/FAULTLINE HUD versions. Fully restart the game. Approve the Lua plugin in Insert -> Plugins -> Plugin Manager if requested.
This update
- A background performance preset starts enabled, independent of whether the trick HUD is showing. No extra on-screen FPS display. It attempts to disable supported boolean bloom, depth-of-field, motion-blur and ambient-occlusion fields reported by the running game. The appearance of these effects changes. Shadows, resolution, texture quality, upscaling, physics and game speed are not adjusted.
- Background performance preset in the TRNSHD HUD Mod menu switches it off/on and saves that preference. The menu reports how many changes were accepted, already off, or unavailable. Recheck performance settings retries discovery after the bounded startup checks. When no compatible fields are available, it says so and applies no reduction.
- Settings use ReSkate's temporary leases: disabling the preset or unloading the plugin releases them. The game restores previous values unless something else changed them while held. Another plugin's ownership is respected. New settings.read/settings.write permissions require accepting the updated plugin prompt; see Insert -> Plugins -> Plugin Manager.
- Startup discovery retries at bounded intervals for about 30 seconds and repeats after level changes; there is no constant per-frame graphics scan or setting write. This is a graphics preset, not a hardware or engine patch. No FPS improvement has been measured or guaranteed. Benchmark the same location with the preset off and on; gains depend on active effects, map and GPU/CPU bottlenecks.
- BS 180 Kickflip displays Backside Flip; FS 180 Kickflip displays Frontside Flip. BS 180 Heelflip displays Backside Heelflip; FS 180 Heelflip displays Frontside Heelflip. Supports combined labels with rotation/direction at either end, plus structured body/direction fields and zero or 180 board components. Direction must be supplied by the game; bare 180 Kickflip/Heelflip labels are left unchanged when direction is unknown. Nollie, fakie and switch prefixes remain intact. Double, 360 and late/dark variants keep their existing handling.
- Trick names keep Xanax gothic lettering, now 25% larger by default, with brighter silver, softer reflections, slightly wider letter spacing, a thin charcoal outline and a short shadow. Score and red multiplier keep their original stronger chrome artwork.
- In the TRNSHD HUD Mod menu, Trick name size, Score number size, Multiplier size, Airtime text size and Manual time text size each adjust independently from 60% to 200%. Values save across reloads. The overall HUD size slider remains available. Reset individual text sizes restores these five controls to 100%.
- Text resizing applies without restarting the HUD feed. Rows and line bar reposition to allow for changed sizes; long trick names wrap to two lines, with a width fit for exceptionally long remaining text. The entire HUD fits within the screen at large settings.
- Original Xanax gothic lettering rendered as silver liquid chrome, with a red chrome multiplier and shallow extrusion. The native menu font stays Oxanium.
- The HUD starts enabled whenever the plugin loads. Older saved disabled/plain-text settings are ignored; the enable switch can still disable it for the current run.
- On first gameplay and after level changes, corner hiding and the trick feed are released across two complete host ticks, then reattached together. This reproduces the working off/on workaround automatically, rather than changing the feed twice within one tick. During these brief initialization ticks, the stock HUD is released. Normal corner hiding then remains enabled. Positive score growth can also wake the HUD if initial trick events were missed.
- Hardflip 180 now displays Ghetto Bird, including suffix labels, explicit BS rotation and a structured 180 board component. An unspecified direction uses your requested naming convention; an explicit FS hardflip does not receive that alias.
- Sixteen compact 512x512 glyph atlases are queued with invisible draw requests on startup and kept warm while enabled. ReSkate loads these asynchronously.
- Long trick names wrap over two lines and shrink the complete second line when needed. Unsupported symbols use a visible replacement glyph instead of aborting the remaining name.
- Plain-text mode and its menu toggle remain removed.
- After initialization, the native scoring/D-pad corner hide request is reasserted every enabled tick, including idle, score-data gaps, menus and level transitions. It is released when disabled, unloaded or stopped on error. This relies on ReSkate's hud.corner implementation; another overlay is not controlled by that API.
- The custom HUD stays transparent and trick-only, including manual and airtime counters, a red line bar with trailing fade and common trick aliases. It disappears after the result hold/fade.
The car Hub background at the recovery resolution, skyline loading screens and your custom icon are retained. The previous 4K texture change remains rolled back. Trick aliases affect only this custom HUD; see TRICK_ALIASES.md.
Validation
Performance module tests cover boolean allowlisting, accepted changes, zero-change reporting, unsupported API/field handling, already-off effects, competing plugins, bounded polling, restoration/retry and external changes. Full HUD integration checks background application in menus, independent HUD/performance toggles, level reapplication and unload restoration. Existing HUD and independent size-control checks still pass. No game execution or FPS benchmark was possible here.
Host-simulation checks pass for the two-tick release and subsequent reattachment, legacy settings, startup prewarming, first-trick rendering without toggling, score-growth wakeup, decreasing score staying idle, level reattachment, complete long names, persistent corner hiding, five screen sizes and unload cleanup. All glyph atlases decode as 512x512 RGBA within ReSkate's image limits. Ghetto Bird label/structured-event cases and unchanged explicit FS/360/double cases pass. An actual atlas-based software render was inspected. Five independent size controls were checked for saved values and unchanged neighboring text sizes; maximum settings fit across five screen sizes without toggling the feed.
These checks do not run the game. The startup change, native hide behavior and actual GPU image upload still require confirmation in your installation. If an error occurs, ReSkate.log records it and the HUD releases the stock corner.
