Tokyo 2026
Photoreal Tokyo street course for ReSkate: scramble plaza, sakura canal with euro gaps, rooftop park with a koi wallride, a closed expressway, a green path on an old rail line, the KIBA wooden indoor bowl park, night lights.Tokyo 2026
A big, photoreal street course for ReSkate, set in the streets of Tokyo, by Trenchgod: my second map, built from scratch in Blender. Many spots you link into lines, something for every level, nothing oversized, all on one Tokyo block: a scramble plaza, a canal under cherry blossoms, a footbridge, a sunken subway plaza, an expressway overhead, a park on a department store roof, a green path where a railway used to run and KIBA, an indoor park in an old timber warehouse with a big wooden bowl.
Sections
- SHIBUYA Scramble: the central plaza. Granite ledges on the diagonals around a manual pad, a seigaiha rainbow ledge, a bike rack flatbar, cherry trees in planters, yellow tactile paving and cast-iron covers. In the middle a giant painted manhole art of the scramble that runs on over the manual pad.
- SHINJUKU Steps: a 9-stair with a hubba on each side and a handrail in the middle, side banks down from the terrace, a rock garden with granite kerbs and the Ishigaki, a curved bank built like a castle wall.
- MEGURO Canal: a euro gap over the water with a rail running across it (land on the long bank, or fall in), the SAKURA-BASHI footbridge with rainbow railings over the canal, cherry trees over the water.
- GINZA Line: a sunken plaza tiled like a subway station, a bank-stairs-bank set, a seigaiha hubba down the east bank, a tiled ledge, a vent box and a rounded corner to carve, a 1927 subway tile mosaic, the subway entrance on the forecourt. A kicker on the Ohashi loop throws you into its long east bank.
- SHUTO Underpass: under the expressway: a wave wallride with an ukiyo-e mural, a bank-to-wall on a pillar, a pole jam, guardrails and guard pipes, giant hanafuda cards painted on the pillars.
- HODŌKYŌ: a blue footbridge over the street with handrails on every flight, a podest with a roll-in, a drop bank and a round nose, and a granite pyramid with a rainbow ledge over it. Fireworks murals run along the bridge, and on the end of its stairs a yakatabune pleasure boat glows under the fireworks.
- OKUJŌ rooftop park: ride up the car park ramp (grind its curb all the way down) to a skatepark on a department store roof: a stage with a 9-stair and hubbas, a U-bank that turns into a koi wallride on the rooftop billboard, a grindable katana, a rainbow ledge, a gas pipe rail, and a drop through the torn fence back down onto the plaza.
- SHUTO SKY ROAD: a closed expressway in the air, reached over a scaffold bridge from the roof: barriers, a euro gap over a road roller, steel plate kickers, a funbox, H-beams and a noise wall wallride. The Ohashi loop spirals you back down to the street.
- RYOKUDŌ green path: an old railway line turned into a promenade. A small euro gap over a stream for beginners, three granite benches to hop, planter ledges, the remains of the old station platform as a long ledge, and a quarter at each end: a concrete one with a coping that turns into the Ishigaki, and a plywood one against a construction hoarding with a mural thanking the old line.
- KIBA 木場 indoor park: an old timber warehouse with a sawtooth roof behind the south row. Ride the footbridge
deck straight through a door with a noren into the foyer (reception, rental helmets, vending machines), out onto
the gallery and down a 4.4 m roll-in.
- A big wooden bowl on three levels: a terrace for beginners, the main floor and a deep end with a spine and a pocket whose coping climbs a metre higher all the way round.
- Three pods and an extension tiled in Japanese wave and lattice patterns, rails on top to jump onto, a channel through the stage, a volcano with a rainbow ledge over it and a squared-timber box down a step.
- A big miniramp (2 m high, 13 m wide, with an extension), a wallride with a woodblock mural of the Kiba raftsmen, a hip box and a charred-cedar ledge. Brush calligraphy 木場 on the back wall.
Details
- Ramps are built for real skating: quarters with lips for stalls and lip tricks, long landing banks behind every gap, rails grind as round rails, ledges, hubbas and kerbs along their edges.
- Water uses the game's own water and swimming.
- Japanese street details everywhere: vending machines, guard pipes, utility poles, tactile paving, road markings, signs in Japanese (all names invented, no real brands).
- Shop fronts with signs in Japanese, awnings, red lanterns that glow at night, banners and potted plants; curtains, AC units and laundry on the floors above.
- Pick evening or night and the street lamps, lit vending machines, murals and the expressway work lights come on. The KIBA hall is lit at every time of day; by day the sun falls through its sawtooth roof.
- All murals, graffiti and graphics are original.
