Forever Doing Stuff — ReSkate Map

Original map by MikeDanHan and Demzilla. Ported to ReSkate by Stoney.

This is the Forever Doing Stuff Thunderstore release, published as a new package named Forever_Doing_Stuff, separate from the previous FDR listing. It includes the compiled V58 map and the original Forever Doing Stuff — Retirement Center artwork as its Thunderstore icon.

Map description

This premier activity location and senior retirement center is located in Hialeah, Florida. As an epicenter of entertainment during the 70s and 80s, it hosted several high profile tennis tournaments and artists from around the world.

After a locally protested change of leadership in 1996, the occupancy slowly began to decline. Around this time, reports began to surface of a connection with the mob. Despite financial crisis, the center managed to maintain some small events.

In early 2014 the center was featured in a tell-all exposé. Allegations arose of an online racket selling the seniors arts and crafts for profit on Etsy. Though some employees were charged, the mob connection was never proven. Several lawsuits were filed against the center after this, and it eventually filed for foreclosure on February 15th, 2015.

The building and its history has remained after ownership was traded from one investment firm to another. Now frequented by the occasional skateboarder and local athletes, the center's main audience is the local ghost hunters who believe the curator of the gallery can still be heard to this day.

Important loading-screen note

The in-game loading screen is embedded in the compiled Frostbite Win32 resources. This release preserves those files unchanged; the separate ui/loading_screen.png is a source artwork file, not a guaranteed in-game loading-screen replacement. A native ReSkate Studio rebuild is needed to replace the compiled loading texture. The Thunderstore listing icon uses the supplied original artwork.

Installation

Install through Thunderstore / the compatible ReSkate mod manager, or install the packaged game files according to your existing ReSkate Studio workflow. This package already includes the compiled map files: no CMD build step is needed for this ZIP.

Important: This is a new listing called Forever_Doing_Stuff, not an update to the old FDR package. To avoid conflicting installations, disable or uninstall the previous FDR listing before enabling this one.

Verification

Archive structure and compiled-file integrity are checked. Actual in-game runtime and low/medium night lighting are not tested by this ZIP-only name change.
