Board customization: four wheel slots, two truck slots, 7 movable stickers (per player online), four tattoo slots per limb (inkd), placeable lights for the dropper. Works with board-shape mods. ReSkate 2.0.4+.
Other players can see you again. ReSkate only sends your outfit to other
players when every slot of your skater and board carries as many adjust
values as the slot asks for. deckorate had given the game's own board sticker
slots five adjust values, and a saved board keeps the count it was saved with
(none on an untouched sticker slot), so the outfit was never sent and you
were invisible online. Those slots are stock again; Stickers 1-3 on the
Stickers page now use slots of deckorate's own.
After updating, Stickers 1-3 start empty once (pick them again); Stickers
4-7 keep their picks. Your old Sticker 1-3 picks stay saved and come back if
you go back to an older deckorate.
1.5.3
Hovering in the Stickers page shows the right sticker every time. The
customize screen draws two preview skaters a moment apart on each hover (one
with your equipped stickers, one with the hovered sticker); the board now
follows the newer one. Before, it showed the equipped sticker on every other
hover.
Smoother menus. The customize and pause-menu boards no longer pause a
moment to wait for the preview skater's stickers; the redraws that follow
every change keep them right.
1.5.2
The board follows the Stickers page as you browse. Hovering over a
sticker, or picking one, now updates the board in the customize menus right
away. Before, the board often kept the old stickers until you switched tabs
or changed something on the board itself.
Shape-mod detection now only reads the mod list (Mods/mods.json) instead of
opening it the way newer ReSkate builds refuse.
Fixed some internal menu data links that pointed at the wrong place (no
visible change known).
1.5.1
No more stutter while grinding. The deck redraws every time it wears; a
wear redraw now draws the stickers it drew last without reading any file or
waiting.
Your board always shows your stickers. The game marks the player's own
skater and board as the main character; deckorate now pairs your board with
your skater by that mark instead of by timing, so another skater drawn at the
same moment (a placeholder, an NPC, a player joining) can no longer swap them.
Pause-menu customization shows the right stickers. Every other board pairs
with the skater the game created just before it, so the pause menu's preview
board follows the preset you are looking at, and NPC and other players'
boards never pick up your stickers.
Shape mods: on mixed boards only the default truck and the wheels follow a
supported shape mod now; the other truck models keep their own shape.
Far fewer file writes. Skaters without stickers (NPCs, the menus'
placeholders) no longer write a sticker record; only your own skater and
skaters that have stickers do (and a preview skater that just lost its
stickers, so its board clears).
The skater page's Board tile shows the deck, grip, Truck 1 and Truck 2 on its
top row and Wheel 1-4 on its bottom row.
The customize screen's board follows preset switches between presets with the
same deck again (it waits a moment for the preview skater's stickers, as in
1.4.x).
Only one record file is used now (deckorate-skaters.txt, kept small);
deckorate-boards.txt from 1.5.0 can be deleted.
1.5.0
Board-shape mods work alongside deckorate, in any load order. deckorate's
split wheel and truck meshes (the ones that let each wheel and each truck end
wear its own finish) now have mesh data of their own instead of rewriting the
game's. Before, a mod that replaces the stock wheel or truck mesh (wider trucks,
egg-shaped boards) either lost its shape or showed trucks and wheels scrambled
across the slots, depending on which mod loaded last. Now the shape mod's meshes
are untouched: a board whose wheels all match and whose trucks match uses the
shape mod's meshes; a board with mixed wheels or trucks uses deckorate's copies,
which have the stock shape. That is also the end of wheel textures bleeding into
other wheels, which came from the same clash.
Stickers are per player in multiplayer. Every board now looks for the
stickers of the skater it was created with (the game composites a skater and its
board together), remembers that pairing, and never takes another player's
stickers on its wear redraws. Other players' boards show their own stickers when
they run deckorate, and their stock stickers when they don't; players without
stickers show none. Boards of two players who spawn in the very same instant
cannot be told apart and show no stickers until one of them changes their
outfit. The old hand-off file is replaced by two small record files
(deckorate-skaters.txt, deckorate-boards.txt in the game's logs folder).
Other players see you. ReSkate 2.0.4 and newer match a player's outfit to
the local game's slot layout, so players without deckorate now see deckorate
players' skaters and boards (without the extra wheels, trucks and stickers), and
deckorate players see them. Nothing to switch off for online play any more.
Needs ReSkate 2.0.4 or newer for this.
Light objects included: spot, beam and bulb lights for the object dropper,
in six colours and four intensities each (the Light_Objects mod; do not enable
it as well). They show as a small grey cube up close.
The skater's and the board's customization components now hand their engine
ids to the scripts; a board's skater is always allotted its id just before the
board's, which settles which stickers belong to which board when several
players spawn in the same instant.
Debug builds (-test versions) write deckorate-stickers.txt and a probe of
everything the game hands the scripts to deckorate-probe.txt.
1.4.1
Fixes lag while grinding and sliding. The board redraws its deck every time
the deck wears, and 1.4.0 paused the game for a moment on each redraw to wait
for the sticker hand-off, then queued three more redraws. Wear redraws no
longer wait, and only board changes queue the extra redraws. Switching
skater presets still updates the stickers as before.
1.4.0
Includes inkd: four tattoo slots on each arm and leg instead of one. The
Tattoos page lists Left Arm 2-4, Right Arm 2-4, Right Leg 2-4 and Left Leg 2-4
beside the stock tabs; each extra tattoo can be moved, resized, rotated and
faded with Adjust like the first one. Saved skaters keep their tattoos; the
new slots start empty.
Do not enable the separate inkd mod with deckorate: deckorate already has it.
Seven stickers instead of eight, so the skater's outfit stays within the 64 slots ReSkate supports
(eight stickers plus the tattoo slots would be 65). A sticker saved in the eighth slot is kept in
your profile but no longer shown.
Stickers follow the skater more reliably: switching skater presets no longer leaves the previous
preset's stickers on the board, and entering the game no longer drops them. A skater without
stickers now writes its own small file (deckorate-handoff-empty.txt) instead of overwriting the
sticker hand-off, the sticker hand-off is written before the tattoos are drawn, and the board
waits a moment for a hand-off that is still being written.
1.3.1
Truck 1 and Truck 2 can now be different truck models. Before, the board always
used Truck 1's model at both ends, and a Truck 2 of another model put its finish
(made for that model's shape) on it, which looked broken and like two trucks
clipping into each other. Each truck model now also has a front-only and a
back-only copy, and the board uses Truck 1's front and Truck 2's back.
A truck added by another mod has no such copies: a board that uses one shows
Truck 1 on both ends instead of the broken mix.
1.3.0
The mod is now called deckorate (it was mixNmatch).
Stickers: up to eight, on their own Stickers page (a new tile on the skater page,
under Tattoos, that shows which slots are in use). Every sticker starts in the
middle of the deck and can be moved, resized and rotated with Adjust, like a
tattoo; the Vibrancy / Wear slider sets how worn it looks.
The board page no longer has sticker tabs; the Board tile's small row shows
Truck 2 and Wheels 2-4 instead of the three stickers.
The board redraws its stickers when you switch skater presets, also between
presets that share the same board.
1.2.0
The mod is now called mixNmatch (it was BetterBoard while in testing). Nothing else
changes with the name: saved boards and picks carry over.
Works on custom maps: boards build and update there like in the main world, with
no extra mod and nothing to redo when a map is added.
The game's own wheel and truck meshes are no longer replaced. The split meshes
are added beside them, one per way of grouping the parts, and the board loader
picks the one that fits. A board whose parts all match is built exactly as the
game builds it.
No more conversion of saved boards. ReSkate 1.1.2 loads a saved skater whose
recipe has more or fewer slots than the game expects.
1.1.0
Four wheel slots and two truck slots, each with its own menu tab.
