Machinima Tools

A comprehensive suite of camera tools meant for screenshots or filmmaking ingame.

Features

Working with LONK and Psyche, I wanted to make a set of tools for making mod trailers. I'm no filmmaker or photographer myself, but after some decent research I landed on what I've built out here. Should be suitable for anyone looking to make videos in game, or as a passable photomode.

• A free flying camera accessible from F2:

• Comprehensive GUI. While in Freecam Mode, hit F5 to access the full tool GUI.

  

  • Can be run entirely client-side. If you want to use the time controls in multiplayer, you must be host. Please don't use this in public lobbies.
  • Allows for fine tuned control of every aspect of the camera. Smoothed and weighted camera motion with full lens control.
  • Every tool can be changed or modified, reset to default, or have values manually typed in.
  • Control lighting, color correction, fog, weather (jankily). Add vignettes, grain, or chromatic aberration.
  • Free cam, follow cam, orbit cam, and mount cam. All with their own parameters.
  • Add point or spot lights with their own parameters in the world.
  • Place keyframes in the world and play them back as a repeatable shot. Choose between cuts or riding along a spline. Seamlessly loop from the end of a shot back to the beginning keyframe. Save shots to be used later or shared, stored in the config.
  • Stepped time control and the ability to freeze all actors except players. You must be the host for these tools to work.

• Fully ingame configurable controls in the GUI.

  • Full controller support for smoother camera control, also fully configurable.
