Immersive Lore

Attempts to present the game's lore more 'immersivity' by displaying snippets of the story in chat during gameplay! Wowa, it's reading time :3 Read up! Nomnomnom

Server-side and vanilla-compatible!

why dose this exist...........

I think there's way too much cool Riskylore to keep 'buried' in the Logbook! Players have to go out of their way to not play the game in order to consume the story, which I think can lead to players either not fully engaging with it/not even knowing there is any lore to begin with! I've noticed this a few times personally upon introducing new players to the game!

In my opinion, one solution to this is to integrate the game's lore into the gameplay itself, via automated lil chat messages! :3

The game already uses NPC chat messages as a lite-storytelling medium, though it's used v. sparingly and mostly for the final bosses, and even then it never goes very deep! So why don't we expand upon this concept! :3 YAYAYAYAYAYA

This mod in no way attempts to fully replace the Logbook itself (there's jus waaay too much info written there to comfortably get across during a single high-intensity run!) Instead, my goal with this mod is to immerse players with the most important bits of lore naturally during gameplay, with the intention being that players who are interested/want to learn more can hop over to the Logbook/YouTube videos! Yaya! :3

Implemented Lore

Mithrix

I thought integrating Mithrix's lore into gameplay could best be achieved by occupying the 'dead air' created while charging commencement pillars, turning boredom into time players can use for reading instead! :3

  • Every time you charge a pillar, a new snippet of lore is revealed in chat, emanating from the pillars themselves!
  • Mainly aims to explore the relationship between the brothers, and how Mithrix ended up on the moon!
