RexClimb
A simple mod that makes it so REX can sprint up walls and cliffsides if they aren't too steep, burrowing along the surface. Multiplayer and vanilla friendly, makes REX feel a lot more dynamic.Rex Climb
Lets REX climb walls while sprinting, using his normal burrow animation, vine effects and burrow sound.
HOW TO USE
- Sprint into a wall and keep holding forward to climb.
- W to climb up, A / D move sideways along the wall. S stops the wall climb and cancels the sprint.
- Jump to leap off the wall.
- If a lip or overhang blocks the top of a cliff, REX will not climb past it.
MULTIPLAYER
- Every player in the lobby (including the host) needs the mod installed. Other players' climbs are detected from how their REX moves, so it can occasionally misfire for a moment. Realisitically though, when are you going to be in a game with more than one Rex?
KNOWN ISSUES
- Items that charge from ground movement (such as Faraday Spur) may not charge while climbing. Energy Drink and Little Disciple work correctly because the code uses the "IsSprinting" flag the same way they do. Faraday Spur is a whole different beast, and I like having more synergy between wall climb and Hopoo Feather, so this will probably remain unchanged unless otherwise requested.
- Very rarely a pose can linger for a moment after a climb ends.
- Vines do not face the correct way when climbing certain surfaces/facing certain directions. If enough people, myself included, become bothered by this, I will attempt to go back and fix it.
- Ritual Helmet faces at an incredibly awkward angle when wall climbing. Given I started working on the code for this right around when DLC 4 dropped, I did not have access to Ritual Helmet's code. Considering how rare actually getting a kill with it would be whilst wall climbing, I will probably not fix this unless I get super sick and tired of seeing the skull on a diagonal angle.

I'm going to put Eli in the stew.
