Adaptive Chest Picker
Stops your Adaptive Chest on the best item for you. Build a priority list of items and rarities in a visual editor (F7), with presets. Client-side, uses the normal interaction. Host: see contents on hover.Adaptive Chest Picker
Stops your Adaptive Chest on the item you want.
When an Adaptive Chest starts cycling, the game has already rolled all 30 of its items. Adaptive Chest Picker reads that list, finds the best item according to your priority list, and presses Interact for you at the right moment, through the game's normal interaction. Drop chances, the item pool and the chest itself are not changed.
Features
- Priority list of specific items and whole rarities (white, green, red, equipment), for example: 57 Leaf Clover > any red item > Hopoo Feather > any green item.
- Never pick list for items you never want.
- Visual editor (F7, or the button in Settings → Mods):
- click an item to add it; drag it to put it exactly where you want;
- drag rows to reorder;
- right-click to never pick;
- search, and tooltips with item descriptions.
- Presets: create, duplicate, rename and delete them; switch with one click.
- Preview (host only): aim at an unopened Adaptive Chest to see which of your priority items it contains.
- Works in singleplayer, as host, and as a client in lobbies where nobody else has the mod. Only chests opened by you are stopped.
How to use
- Press F7 (in the menus or during a run) to open the editor.
- Build your list. Click or drag items and rarities from the right side into the list; the top entry is the most wanted.
- Open an Adaptive Chest and let go of Interact. The chest stops on the best item from your list. If the cycle contains nothing from your list, the mod does nothing and the chest behaves as usual.
Multiplayer
- The mod is client-side. Nobody else needs it, and it does not add itself to the lobby's required-mod list.
- It only presses Interact, so the host decides what drops, exactly as if you pressed it yourself. The game already compensates for your ping. The mod presses in the middle of the chosen item's time window, which leaves about ±0.15 s for ping spikes.
- The preview only works for the host: before a chest is opened, only the host has the random generator its items come from.
Settings
Settings → Mods → Adaptive Chest Picker (needs Risk Of Options,
optional), or BepInEx/config/com.adaptivechestpicker.cfg. The lists can also be typed there as comma-separated
names. Partial names such as clover work, as do rarities: White, Green, Red, Equipment.
| Setting | Default | |
|---|---|---|
| Enabled | true | Master switch |
| Priority editor key | F7 | Opens / closes the editor |
| Priority list | Red | Highest priority first |
| Never pick | Never stop on these | |
| Show contents on hover | true | Host-only preview |
| DebugLogging | false | Every decision in the BepInEx log |
Notes
- Requires only BepInExPack. Risk Of Options is optional.
- A chest you opened is stopped even if you walked away from it; the item drops at the chest.
- If your ping jumps by more than about 0.15 s at the moment of stopping, the host may pick the neighbouring item, just like with a manual press.
