Mod Overview
New Moon is an overhaul mod focused on the ending paths of Risk of Rain 2, designed for 2R4R. Our goal is to simultaneously address several issues with ROR2's endgame, in a way that enhances the experience for everybody and can be compatible with other boss reworks. Although New Moon is currently still under construction, it is still loaded with valuable features. They are as follows!
Adds 4 new "Relics" that are exclusive drops to Ending Paths:
- Relic of Mass, from Pillar of Mass..
- Relic of Design, from Pillar of Design..
- Relic of Blood, from Pillar of Blood..
- Relic of Soul, from Pillar of Soul..
All of these Relics are obtained by charging the Pillars on Commencement, but can also be found before RoR2's other Final Bosses, each in their own way. They are designed to counter the Final Bosses, both making the lead up to these fights feel more rewarding, and allowing us to reliably design these fights around ROR2's unique scaling.
Additionally, NEW MOON also introduces a few tweaks to Commencement and other Ending Paths:
- Reduced Pillar charge requirement to activate Commencement's Elevators. Additional Pillars are allowed to charge to obtain Relics.
- Lunar Chimera Exploder spawners on Ramps in Mithrix's Arena to discourage Ramp Cheesing
Future of New Moon
Commencement Perfected is only just getting started! In future releases, you can look out for the following changes:
- Secret "Boss Rush" mechanic that allows a built-in Pillar Skip on Commencement
- New Moon-related enemies
- Reworked attack patterns for Mithrix Phase 1 and 3
- Something very very special for Mithrix Phase 2
- A full redesign to Mithrix Phase 4
- A secret "Hard Mode" for the Mithrix fight
- And More..!
