Temp Pickup Balance

Automatically collect temporary item drops just by walking near them and choose where their temporary stacks go. Configure the behavior in Settings → Mod Options → Temp Pickup Balance.

Features

  • Automatic temporary pickups: walk near a supported temporary pickup to collect it without opening the selection menu.
  • Balanced: prioritizes your owned item with the fewest effective stacks of the same rarity.
  • Highest stack: prioritizes your owned item with the most effective stacks of the same rarity.
  • Ties: prefers items tagged Damage by the game, then uses a deterministic internal order.
  • Normal pickups stay manual. Temporary items still expire according to the game's rules.
  • Configurable: enable/disable, collection radius, scan interval, and inclusion of temporary-only inventory candidates.

Example

With 5 Armor-Piercing Rounds, 2 Mocha, and 1 Energy Drink, a temporary common-item drop is routed to Energy Drink in Balanced mode, or Armor-Piercing Rounds in Highest Stack mode (provided the drop and candidate items are compatible).

Installation

Install with r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager; dependencies install automatically. Start the game modded, open Settings → Mod Options, and select the desired mode.

Compatibility and notes

  • Built and tested by the creator with Risk of Rain 2 and Alloyed Collective temporary item selectors. Compatibility with all other mods, DLC combinations, and multiplayer configurations is not guaranteed.
  • This mod changes the recipient of temporary item grants and uses server-side game mechanisms; multiplayer clients may need matching versions. Testing with a single player or host is recommended first.
  • If a drop remains on the ground, please report the exact item source and mod list.
  • Significant portions of this mod were developed with AI assistance.
