CruncherListFix
Fixes lists on your own cruncher being cut down to one entry (every vmail, every resident at login), and gives you an account on the cruncher in a hotel room you rent.Cruncher List Fix
Fixes for crunchers in Shadows of Doubt:
- On the cruncher in your own apartment, lists are cut down to a single entry.
- On the cruncher in a hotel room you rent, there is no account for you, so you can't log in.
Lists cut down to one entry
You'd see it as:
- VMail: only one message shows in your inbox, however many you have.
- Login screen: only one user shows, however many people live with you.
In the vanilla game you rarely notice, because nobody sends you mail and you live alone. It shows up as soon as a mod sends you messages or has someone move in with you.
The fix only touches those two lists, only while they are being built, and only on your own cruncher. Everything else works as before.
Details
When a list is built on a cruncher, the game checks whether the computer stands in an apartment you own. If it does, it runs a "player profile" step that deletes every list entry after the first. This mod hides your owned apartments from that one step for the moment the list is built, then puts them straight back.
Hotel room login
The game only puts you on a cruncher's login screen if the computer stands in an apartment you own. A hotel room you rent doesn't count, so its cruncher lists nobody you can log in as.
With this fix, the cruncher in your rented room shows your account first, the same as at home. Pick it and you're logged in; your vmail is there as usual. The check runs every time the login screen opens, so once you check out or lose the room, the account is gone again.
Nothing else changes: the room is not added to the apartments you own, and nobody else's account is touched.
