EyeOfProvidence
A mod that changes how you see the world.Eye of Providence
An Ultrakill mod inspired by the Quake mod Blinky that lets you use various projection methods to modify how you perceive your environment.
What does that mean?
Most modern games use what's called a Rectiliniar projection to render scenes to the screen. While it's simplier for computers to calculate and preserves straight lines, as the field of vision approaches 180 degrees the scene developes severe distortion.
Rectiliniar 170 FoV:
This mod provides alternative projection methods to choose from, all capable of rendering beyond 180 degrees and most rendering the full 360 degrees of vision.
Panini 170 FoV:
How does it work?
Instead of rendering from the camera directly to the screen, multiple cameras are used to construct a globe of pixels that all projections can pull from to construct their scene. A visualization of this can be enabled in Misc Settings.
You can choose from a variety of unique projections such as...
Equidistance Fisheye:
Hammer Projection:
Equirectangular Projection:
and more!
Known Issues
- Blood/Gasoline/Portals/Radiant Effect will not show up in projections.
- As of update 17d4, fov is capped to 180 when looking in the direction of a portal.
- The fraud theater skybox does not render properly on all globe planes.
- At the moment, VolumetricSkyboxes conflicts with this mod.
