Changelog

1.1.1

No changes to the mod itself.

  • Tested on a Meta Quest 3 streaming with ALVR 20.14: the README's "Seeing your desk" has a Quest 3 setup with ALVR's chroma key and the video settings that keep the picture sharp.
  • Virtual Desktop's chroma-key passthrough and Desk Passthrough are mentioned, but not tested.

1.1.0 (in development)

First release of VRisingVR Passthrough, VRisingVR 1.0.3 plus a window onto your desk for the Steam Frame. It is a separate Thunderstore package and replaces VRisingVR (same plugin and settings file).

  • Hold your mouse's rear side button to see your keyboard, mouse and hands: the mod draws a pure green rectangle over your desk, and the community chroma-key tool on the headset shows the passthrough there. The HUD steps aside while you hold it. Setting up the tool is described in the README.
  • Hold G and move the mouse to slide the window over your desk, and scroll to turn it (the game zooms its camera with the wheel too); it stays where you let go, even when you re-center or take the headset off, until VR restarts. The F4 panel also adjusts its position and size, and shows it while open.
  • The keys are the rear mouse side button (show) and G (show and move) by default, both free near WASD once you clear V Rising's second binding of Interrupt Ability Cast from the side button (see the README). The F4 panel's top two rows change them: click one and press any key or mouse button. They're saved as DeskWindow.Key and DeskWindow.MoveKey.
  • The F4 panel scales with the window's height, so its extra rows fit on screens smaller than 1080p.
  • DeskWindow.Mode picks when it shows: Hold (default), Toggle, LookDown, Always or Off. DeskWindow.KeyColor matches the tool's colour presets.
  • The log's Perf: line reports how often the window showed and where your head pointed, for tuning LookDown.

1.0.3

No changes to the mod itself.

  • Report bugs and suggest improvements on GitHub Issues.
  • The source code is public on GitHub, and the Thunderstore page links to it.

1.0.2

No changes to the mod itself.

  • New install instructions for players who are new to mod managers: installing from Thunderstore, importing a downloaded zip, installing by hand, updating and uninstalling.
  • The README and the plugin's assembly metadata now say the mod was made with AI, as Thunderstore's rules require.
  • The Thunderstore zip is named Circuitrinos-VRisingVR-<version>.zip, so a mod manager shows the author when you import it.
  • The README notes that Stunlock Studios doesn't allow mods on its official servers.

1.0.1

New default view settings, tuned in play-testing:

  • View.WorldScale 14.05 (was 8) and View.HeightOffset 2.57 (was 0).
  • View.RenderScale 1 (was 0.7), SteamVR's full recommended resolution. Lower it if your frame rate is low.
  • HUD.Distance 0.59 m and HUD.Width 0.71 m (were 1.1 m and 1.2 m).
  • Screen.Distance 3.1 m (was 2.5 m).

A config file from 1.0.0 keeps its values. Delete BepInEx\config\vrisingvr.tabletop.cfg to get the new defaults.

1.0.0

First release.

  • Stereo 3D tabletop view from the game's own top-down camera, with head tracking. The game's camera rotation and zoom still work.
  • The game's HUD, menus and map on a transparent layer in front of you, and a virtual screen in the main menu.
  • Health bars, names, levels and icons drawn over the characters in 3D, using the game's own graphics.
  • The aim cursor on the ground in 3D, where your attacks go.
  • An in-game settings panel (F4), and hotkeys for re-centering, world scale and toggling VR.
  • The desktop window mirrors your left eye while in VR, saving a render each frame.
