A narrow preloader compatibility patch that lets the official Smoothbrain Backpacks 1.3.8 package run on Valheim 1.0.7.Backpacks Valheim 1 Compatibility
This package lets the official Smoothbrain-Backpacks-1.3.8 package run on
Valheim 1.0.7 while its upstream release catches up with the game's changed
method signatures.
It does not redistribute Smoothbrain's DLL, models, assets, or source. Thunderstore installs the official Backpacks package as a dependency. A small BepInEx preloader patch then applies narrowly guarded compatibility repairs to that installed copy before the game loads it.
Scope
- replaces the removed
ZRoutedRpc.Everybodyfield reads with the same declared constant value; - redirects obsolete
Inventory.AddItemtargets and calls to the live Valheim 1.0 overloads; - supplies neutral/default values for the new
Inventory.IsTeleportable,VisEquipment.AttachArmor,Character.Message, andEffectList.Createparameters; - refuses to patch anything except the exact official Backpacks 1.3.8 binary it was built and tested against;
- keeps a recoverable copy of the original DLL beside the patched profile copy;
- makes no intentional change to backpack mechanics, assets, defaults, plugin identity, or network protocol.
Installation
Install this package normally with r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager. Its dependencies install BepInEx and the official Backpacks 1.3.8 package automatically. Do not also import the earlier private full-binary compatibility ZIP into the same profile.
Install the same package set on a dedicated server and every joining client.
Removal
Remove this compatibility package and reinstall the official Backpacks package to restore a completely clean upstream DLL. The patch only touches the active profile copy; it does not alter Thunderstore's package cache.
