🛡️ Aicho Dual Hotbar 🛡️

  • Aicho Dual Hotbar gives you a second hotbar in Valheim: a second row of 8 slots that you swap with a single key. The two bars sit together at the top of your inventory, a small indicator on screen shows which one is active, each bar remembers what you had equipped, and the second bar is sold by Haldor like the inventory sacks.

🌳 How to start 🌳

  1. Defeat The Elder and visit Haldor. Buy the Second Hotbar for 2000 coins (price and requirement can be changed in the config).
  2. A second row of 8 slots appears in your inventory, right under your normal hotbar.
  3. Put your items in it and press < to swap between the two bars.

🔁 Swapping bars 🔁

Press < to swap between your two bars. The key is the one to the left of Z on European (ISO) keyboards, and you can change it in the config.

  • The bar shown on your screen changes, and the keys 1 to 8 (and the gamepad radial menu) use the active bar.
  • It works with the inventory open. It is ignored while you are typing in the chat, using the console or inside a menu.
  • The bars never move in your inventory: the first bar is always the first row and the second bar is always the second row. Swapping only changes which one is active.
  • Like in vanilla, new items go to the first free slot, so they fill the first bar, then the second one, then the rest of the inventory.
Key ⌨️ Action
< Swap between the first and the second bar
1 to 8 Use the slot of the active bar

⚔️ Each bar remembers your equipment ⚔️

When you swap, the mod also changes what you hold in your hands, so you don't have to equip everything again.

  • Each bar remembers the weapon, shield, bow, torch or tool you were holding there. When you come back to that bar, they are equipped again. If you left it with empty hands, you come back with empty hands.
  • The first time you go to a bar, the item in the same slot number as the one you were holding is equipped instead (if it is a weapon, shield, tool or torch).
  • Armor is never changed.
  • What each bar remembers is saved with your character, so it survives logging out.

🎬 Animation and sound 🎬

  • Transition: when you swap, the icons of the hotbar slide and fade out and the new ones slide in. Going to the top bar, the icons move down; going to the bottom bar, they move up.
  • Sound: a short sound plays when you swap. It is built into the mod. If you want your own, put a WAV, OGG or MP3 named swap in the mod's folder and it replaces the original; it is picked up on the next swap without restarting the game. Delete your file to go back to the original sound.

🟨 HUD indicator 🟨

At the end of your hotbar you will see:

  • Two small squares: the top one is the first bar and the bottom one is the second bar. The active bar has a small yellow square inside.
  • A button with the swap key, so you never forget which key it is. It is hidden if you play with a gamepad.

You can turn the squares and the key button on or off separately in the config, and the change applies live.

🧺 Your inventory 🧺

  • The two bars are shown together at the top of the inventory, with a small gap between them and the rest of your items. The numbers of the second bar are shown dimmed.
  • The second bar is an extra row: you keep exactly the same storage space as in vanilla.
  • The side panels of the inventory (armor, weight and others) move down to line up with the storage rows.
  • Haldor's inventory sacks keep working as always: each one adds a normal row of storage.

🤝 Compatibility 🤝

  • Extra Slots (shudnal): the second bar adapts to its layout and the hotbar keeps updating correctly.
  • Quick Stack - Store - Sort - Trash - Restock: the second bar is protected from its actions: Quick Stack, Store, Restock, Sort and Quick Trash never touch the items of your second bar, and Sort never puts items in its slots.
  • Aicho Mouse Tweaks: works with it. The number keys over an item in the inventory send it to the slots of the first bar.

⚙️ Settings ⚙️

The file aicho.dualhotbar.cfg (in BepInEx/config) is created automatically the first time you open the game. It has 6 options:

Option What it does Default
Enabled Turns the whole mod on or off (needs a restart of the game) On
SwapKey Key that swaps the two bars <
ShowSquares Shows the two squares at the end of the hotbar On
ShowKeyButton Shows the button with the swap key at the end of the hotbar On
PurchasePrice Price of the second bar at Haldor, in coins 2000
RequiredGlobalKey World progress needed before Haldor sells it. Empty = always defeated_gdking

defeated_gdking is The Elder. Other keys you can use: defeated_eikthyr, defeated_bonemass, defeated_dragon (Moder, the first sack) and defeated_queen (the second sack).

You can edit the config in game with a configuration manager (for example Configuration Manager). The descriptions inside the config file are written in English.

📌 Notes 📌

  • Client-side: only the player who uses it needs the mod. The second bar and what it remembers are saved with your character.
  • Before you stop using the mod (or before you turn Enabled off), empty the last row of your inventory: that row disappears without the mod and its items would be dropped on the ground. Everything in the other rows stays in your inventory.
  • Requires BepInExPack Valheim.

⚡ I hope you enjoy it ⚡

🛡️ Aicho Dual Hotbar 🛡️

Aicho

🌳 Cómo empezar 🌳

  1. Derrota a El Anciano y visita a Haldor.

  • Necesita BepInExPack Valheim.
