Monke Auto Kiln

A new buildable charcoal kiln with a tall black timber gravity rack attached at the rear. Load ordinary Wood into the rack and let it feed the kiln automatically.

Features

  • Six storage slots, normally 300 Wood with vanilla stack sizes.
  • Sloping timber rack, enclosed plank back, dark wood grain and a visible feed chute.
  • Decorative logs roll down the chute when Wood is transferred. These visuals never create extra inventory items.
  • Coal drops at the front using the vanilla output. Burning speed, yield and smoke restrictions remain vanilla.
  • Rack and kiln share one ZNetView/ZDO. Only the current owner feeds; other players receive replicated storage and animation events.
  • Opening rack storage pauses automatic feeding while the kiln continues processing its existing queue.
  • Configurable build recipe, with Jotunn admin-only synchronization.

Install

Use Install with Mod Manager, or search MonkeAutoKiln in Thunderstore Mod Manager under Valheim. Install into the profile you use, then start Modded.

Dependencies: BepInExPack_Valheim and Jotunn >= 2.30.2. Every player and the host must use matching Auto Kiln versions. If you previously installed a OneClick DLL manually, remove that manual copy before installing this package so the plugin is not loaded twice. Keep your existing configuration file.

Use

  1. Open the Hammer build menu: Crafting > Auto Kiln.
  2. Build a new kiln or restart the game to load updated geometry on existing Monke Auto Kiln pieces.
  3. Open the rear rack with E, place ordinary Wood inside and close the storage window.
  4. The owner feeds up to five Wood per second when the native queue has room. Collect Coal at the front.

The storage window is the native Container UI. Other items can occupy slots but only exact Wood is automatically consumed. There is no charcoal storage row. Feeding requires a loaded area.

Build recipe and config

Default costs:

Ingredient Amount
Core Wood 20
Stone 30
Copper 5
Surtling Core 2

After first launch, close the game and edit BepInEx/config/monke.valheim.autokiln.cfg on the host:

[BuildCost]
CoreWood = 20
Stone = 30
Copper = 5
SurtlingCore = 2

CoreWood is the build ingredient RoundLog, not the automatically burned Wood. In 0.3.1, Copper is set to 5 once on first startup, including profiles retaining Copper=10 from 0.3.0. Other ingredient values stay unchanged. Copper can be customized again after this one-time update.

Multiplayer and compatibility

Primary multiplayer target: Start Server. Install the same version on the host and every client. The mod uses native Container access and the original kiln simulation. A headless path exists, but actual Dedicated Server operation has not been verified.

Plugin GUID: monke.valheim.autokiln. Prefab: Monke_AutoKiln_Rack. Version 0.3.1 retains the six-slot storage schema and identity from 0.3.0.

The original 0.3.0 was reported running by the user. The 0.3.1 DLL builds without errors/warnings and passes 44 simulated scenarios, including config migration, inventory conservation, network-owner logic and opaque black materials. The updated appearance and real two-PC behavior have not been independently verified in a live game. No crash-atomic item transaction guarantee is made.

Before permanently removing this mod from a world, empty and dismantle its custom kilns. If replacing a manual copy with this Thunderstore package, keep the game closed until the replacement is installed.
