Breeding Upgrades

Breeding Upgrades introduces a simple mechanic to Valheim taming. Every time your tamed creatures procreate (live birth or egg), there is a rare chance (configurable) for the offspring to be born with +1 Star.

🐺 Dedication

This mod was made for my friends, Chris and Shady, who spent two months searching for two-star wolves just so they could cheese Yagluth. Now you can build your animal army in the safety of the meadows.

Features

Star Upgrades: Offspring have a percentage chance (default 5%) to gain a star level.
Egg Support: Works for both mammals (Wolves, Lox, Boars) and egg-layers (Chickens, Asksvin).
ServerSync Enforced: Configuration is locked by default and synced from the server.
Configurable Limits: You decide the cap. Want more than 2 stars? (See Creature Level Mods below)

Compatibility

Creature Level Mods:

✅ CLLC (CreatureLevelAndLootControl) - Fully compatible. Breeding upgrades work as expected. Required for star levels above 2.
⚠️ Star Level Systems - Not compatible. This mod uses a different level assignment mechanism that bypasses the vanilla breeding level inheritance.

Creature Mods:

✅ Moose (Deep North) - Should be fully supported. Moose uses the standard Tameable/Procreation components, so star upgrades apply to moose calves and carry over when they grow up. Haven't tested on Moose yet.
✅ Therzie's Monstrum - Tested and working.
Should work with all mods that add standard tamable creatures or eggs.

Configuration

A configuration file is generated in BepInEx/config/dumba.breedingupgrades.cfg after the first launch.

Setting	Default	Description
UpgradeChance	5.0%	The percentage chance that a baby/egg will gain a star.
MaxStarLevel	2	The hard limit for stars. If you are using CLLC, you can set this to match your CLLC config.
Lock Configuration	True	(Server Only) If true, clients cannot modify these settings.

Installation

Extract the DLL into your BepInEx/plugins folder.
Launch the game to generate the config file.
