AegirsWrath
Gradually increases sea level per day. Can be used to add a new challenge from day 1, signal a cataclysm on day 100, or wrap up gameplay after defeating all bosses on day 700.Ægir's Wrath
Ægir's Wrath is a Valheim mod that gradually raises the world's sea level over time, flooding coastlines, settlements, and low-lying terrain.
The sea rises continuously throughout each in-game day until it reaches a configurable maximum elevation. Terrain and structures are not modified.
Features
- Gradual sea-level rise based on in-game time.
- Configurable starting day and rise rate.
- Configurable maximum sea level.
- Automatic updates to water in loaded zones.
- Configurable update interval.
- Fixed sea-level override for testing.
- Preserves vanilla waves and weather effects.
- No terrain modifications.

Flood Mechanics
Valheim's baseline sea level is 30 meters.
Once the configured starting day is reached, sea level rises at the configured rate. The increase is gradual throughout the day rather than occurring at day transitions.
For example, with MetersPerDay = 0.05, the sea rises 5 centimeters per in-game day.
The maximum sea level is an absolute elevation, not an increase above the original sea level. With MaxSeaLevel = 200, flooding stops at 200 meters, or 170 meters above the original sea level.
Water elevations are updated periodically across loaded zones, including newly loaded zones encountered during exploration.
Testing
Set OverrideSeaLevel to a nonnegative value to force a fixed water elevation.
For example, OverrideSeaLevel = 60 sets the water surface to 60 meters.
Set OverrideSeaLevel = -1 to resume normal day-based progression.
The override is limited by MaxSeaLevel.
Notes
- Existing terrain and structures remain unchanged.
- Buildings, vegetation, and terrain can become submerged.
- The maximum sea level can be adjusted to control the extent of flooding.
- Lowering the configured maximum can lower the water level.
- Multiplayer behavior and water interactions at extreme elevations have not been fully validated.
- Back up existing worlds before enabling the mod.
