9 Bottle Guardians

0.20.4

  • Enemy targeting rejects hostile candidates outside follow/stay/guard boundaries before running native visibility checks. Existing search distance, order boundaries, target selection and line-of-sight rules remain in place.
  • Guardian announcements now acknowledge both reporting and recipient delivery, retrying unacknowledged messages every half-second for up to ten seconds. Reports retain copied event data after the scene object is removed; server delivery survives the reporting peer leaving once the report is accepted.
  • The server briefly remembers observed previous simulation owners and copies guardian identity before native ZDO destruction. In-flight reports can therefore finish across ownership handoffs, and late death reports can be validated after the guardian disappears. Capture never creates a late-death record; scene unloading is not destruction.
  • Recipients wait for the HUD and applicable ally permissions before consuming an announcement, and duplicates acknowledge without repeating banners or effects. Queues are bounded, expire, reset with the world and bind to the original connection to avoid replay on reconnect. No persistent notification journal or offline delivery is introduced.

0.20.3

  • Guardian inspection reuses its combat snapshot instead of rebuilding every attack/projectile/area tree every 0.35 seconds. Health, XP, armor, resistances and orders still update. Promotions, language, weapon inventory/quality/variant/world level, health-dependent damage and replacing the loaded guardian invalidate the relevant cache.
  • Map snapshots now use a server index of persistent guardian IDs. The world is scanned once on entry; summons, capture and native destruction maintain the index. Unloaded guardians, current names/positions, permission changes and Thungr-to-Zil transformations retain their existing map behavior. Disconnect and teardown detach the index from the old world.
  • Fully trained guardians no longer enter XP recipient lists or award queues. Pending/late awards stop without rewriting XP or replay history; late deliveries still acknowledge receipt. Normal guardians can finish both stars, while bosses/minibosses stop at level ten. Training costs, healing, balance and saved formats are unchanged.

0.20.2

  • Enlarged the guardian level into a dedicated gold badge, with stars beneath the number, visible from every menu tab.
  • Real level/star gains now play the player's native skill-up VFX and sound at the guardian. The simulation owner reports the event through the server; nearby clients play the native local effects once. Multi-level rewards celebrate the final rank once.
  • Added native queued announcements with guardian name and trophy icon for promotions, stars and final death. Owner and authorized allies receive them even when another peer simulates the guardian; announcements also enter the native message log.
  • Thungr's transformation uses a separate second-life notice. Capture, unloading, loading trained guardians and releasing bottles do not generate false deaths or replay promotions. Transient event deduplication, current-world/server checks, nine-language messages and regression coverage accompany the change.

0.20.1

  • Redesigned Ctrl + E with Overview, Combat and Vigilance tabs, native wood panels/fonts, guardian portrait, clearer stat cards, slim animated health/XP bars and an always-accessible bottling footer. The window fits the current canvas size.
  • Combat shows damage totals and typed components per hit, projectile or area pulse, plus armor and resistances. Inspection follows actual spawned effects and native impact inheritance, avoiding fictitious carrier damage on Fader's powers. Hidden NPC weapons without inventory icons are safe to inspect.
  • Moving out of interaction range no longer closes the window. Unloaded guardians retain a labeled last-known snapshot; commands remain gated by proximity and permissions. Draft names and attack-list scroll position survive ordinary stat refreshes.
  • Corrected health labeling and numeric rounding, including 7500.0005 displaying as 7,500 rather than 7,501. Added nine-language labels and regression checks for window lifetime, action range, damage presentation and installed APIs. Training balance, combat behavior and saved formats remain unchanged.

0.20.0

  • Added guardian training through nearby combat, with full XP for each eligible living guardian within 20 metres, including hares and seals. Server-derived rewards, recent owner/ally combat credit, native enemy-star multipliers and authority retries prevent accidental duplicate awards.
  • Added ten progressive levels with +7.5% starting health/damage per level gained. Normal creatures then earn two stars at level ten, reaching 41.75% and exactly 50% of native stats. Bosses and minibosses stop at level ten. Costs use the guardian's origin biome; first and second star costs are 4000 and 8000 base XP.
  • Promotions preserve health percentage, then heal 25% of the new maximum once per reward. XP survives ZDO saves, authority changes, resting bottles and both lives of Zil & Thungr. Native star colors/HUD stars do not add native stat or size multipliers.
  • Replaced guardian modifier shortcuts with Ctrl + E for a native-style Information / Vigilance window. E still toggles follow/stay. Added editable names, health/XP bars, attack stats, explicit 2/5/10/15/20 m patrol buttons, a centre-at-player action, area preview and a shared bottling button with availability explanations.
  • Successful summons return one configured empty vial, including resting releases. A new journal event handles full inventories and replay without retroactively rewarding old acknowledgements. Failed summons retain their original refund behavior.
  • Added nine-language UI text, training tables and regression coverage for progression, healing, old/new bottle formats, vial recovery and installed native API hooks. Prior records remain readable; downgrades require the complete pre-update backup.

0.19.1

  • Increased all seven main boss guardians from 20% to 30% native health and damage, including weapon hits, meteors and persistent damage areas. Normal and miniboss guardians remain at 20%; sizes, recipes and capacity are unchanged.
  • Removed Yagluth guardian's two ambient magenta lights and continuous pink body flame. Eye and attack effects, as well as wild Yagluth, are preserved.
  • Existing boss guardians receive a one-time proportional health migration before native full-health initialization or on network-authority handoff. It preserves their health fraction, excludes dead/stored guardians and records a persistent revision to prevent repeated upgrades. New/resting summons start with the current revision.
  • Updated boss bottle descriptions in all nine languages and current health/damage values in the guides.

0.19.0

  • Added The Elder, Bonemass, Moder, Yagluth, The Queen and Fader: 75 craftable choices. Deep North boss phases and aspects remain excluded. All seven main bosses use AllowBossSummons and the standard two-trophy recipe.
  • New boss health: 500 / 1000 / 1500 / 2000 / 2500 / 5000; size: 35% / 40% / 25% / 35% / 30% / 25%. Damage remains 20%; each occupies one slot with normal orders, rest and allied control.
  • Added owned meteor, fissure and fire-wall volleys, scaled effects and projectiles, and low flight/landing for Moder. Volleys recheck orders, capture, death and network authority between bursts; direct ground areas receive their caster.
  • Removed minion/root summons, Queen arena teleport, Moder ice blockers, walking damage, passive fire trails and unowned cinders. Kept Fader meteor impact fire as a private owned area.
  • Added private animation effect/attachment copies and scaled remains, without boss loot, progression, achievement credit, dreams or encounter announcements. Wild bosses keep their native data.
  • Added six guardian, bottle and resting names in all nine languages. Existing bottle identifiers, journals and configuration remain compatible.

0.18.0

  • Added Eikthyr as the first main boss guardian: 69 craftable choices. Recipe: 2 Eikthyr trophies, 1 Corked Vial, 1 Surtling Core and 1 Fine Wood at the Artisan Table.
  • Eikthyr has 100 base health, 60% native size and one active slot. It keeps antler, frontal lightning and lightning stomp attacks at 20% damage, with scaled geometry and the existing ally/building filters.
  • Added private scaled lightning visuals and ragdoll; reduced camera shake. Guardian copies drop no boss loot and do not trigger the boss event, defeat key, boss-order credit, progression dream or native encounter announcements.
  • Added administrator-synchronized AllowBossSummons, enabled by default and independent of AllowMinibossSummons. It controls both crafting and new summons, including resting bottles, while preserving active guardians and capture.
  • Added Eikthyr bottle/guardian names and the disabled-boss message in all nine languages. Normal orders, allied control, map markers and resting persistence apply. Other main bosses and boss aspects remain pending.

0.17.1

  • Added [Summoning] AllowMinibossSummons, enabled by default and synchronized under server administrator control.
  • Turning it off hides miniboss recipes and blocks new summons of Geirrhafa, Brenna and Zil & Thungr, including resting bottles and Zil's second form. Normal guardians remain available.
  • Existing minibosses keep working, can be stored, and retain the duo transformation. Prefabs and item data remain registered so saves are preserved.
  • Server enforcement handles setting changes during pending summons through the durable bottle-refund path; previously accepted summons remain successful on retries.
  • Added the disabled message in all nine languages. Main bosses remain a review list, with no new boss recipes in this release.

0.17.0

  • Added one Zil & Thungr bottle: 68 craftable guardians. Three native recipes accept two Thungr trophies, two Zil trophies, or one of each, with the usual vial, Surtling Core and Fine Wood.
  • Two consecutive lives in one active slot: the combined form has 840 base health; when Thungr falls, it transforms into Zil with 480 base health. Both forms use 65% size and 20% native damage. Health figures precede game difficulty modifiers.
  • Transformation changes the prefab on the same persistent network object, preserving the original owner, name, orders, follow target, map identity and summon receipt. Zil's death is final; neither form drops trophies/chests or advances Hildir progression.
  • Resting bottles and durable journals preserve the current life. Resting Zil never restores Thungr. Previous bottle formats remain readable; new resting records require 0.17.0. Use the same version on all clients and the server.
  • Added phase indicators and descriptions in all nine languages, private projectiles and reduced ally-safe shields. Boar, deer, lox, main bosses and additional raid variants remain excluded.

0.16.0

  • Added Geirrhafa and Brenna with their own trophy recipes: 67 bottle choices. Zil and Thungr remain pending.
  • Geirrhafa keeps ice claws, frost breath and ice nova, with 740 base guardian health and 85% size. Brenna keeps the flaming sword and fire nova, with 240 base guardian health and native size. Damage stays at 20%.
  • Their damage areas are private guardian copies with ally, structure and terrain protections. Geirrhafa uses a scaled private ragdoll.
  • Removed Hildir defeat keys from guardian copies: losing a guardian does not set native quest/raid progression. Guardian copies drop neither trophies nor quest chests.
  • Same crafting costs, ownership, storage, rest, nine-guardian limit and nine languages. Existing bottles and guardians remain compatible. Install 0.16.0 on all clients and the server.

0.15.0

  • Added Writhan, Vile, Frost Blob, Lava Blob and Ocean Serpent: 65 bottle choices. Boar, deer and lox remain excluded.
  • Same recipes, 20% health/damage, nine active guardians and ownership/rest rules. Writhan is scaled to 65%, Vile to 55% and Serpent to 35%; both blobs retain native size.
  • Writhan and Lava Blob use reusable area attacks instead of killing themselves. Explosion damage passes through guardian filtering; unowned death explosions and terrain damage are removed.
  • Ocean Serpent uses water placement, scaled swimming depth, tail and tight steering. Ocean reuses the existing blue bottle palette.
  • New guardian, crafted bottle and resting bottle names in all nine languages. Bosses, minibosses and additional variants remain unchanged.

0.14.4

  • Guardian markers now use Valheim's player arrow in light green, at 65% of the player's marker size, on both the minimap and large map.
  • Guardian names and owner/ally visibility are preserved. Nearby arrows follow the guardian's heading; unloaded guardians keep their last observed heading.
  • Bottle icons in the inventory and crafting menu are unchanged.

0.14.3

  • Ally synchronization sends full permission snapshots only when a client's revision differs. New connections still request a fresh snapshot, and periodic requests recover missed permission changes.
  • Cached permission encoding and numeric permission keys reduce repeated string processing. Duplicate or older replies no longer rebuild client permissions.
  • Guardian names are cached until renamed or the language changes. Map markers resolve loaded objects five times per second while continuing to follow their cached positions every frame.
  • Indexed all 60 species and their crafted/resting bottle IDs for direct lookup. Summon capacity checks skip unrelated objects before reading guardian details and still count unloaded guardians.
  • Client journal entries reuse their encoded checksums. Disk validation, atomic writes, backups and recovery behavior remain unchanged.
  • Existing worlds, bottles and ownership data remain compatible. Install 0.14.3 on the server and every client.

0.14.2

  • Fixed guest network initialization occurring before the server's world information arrives, which could leave ally permissions waiting indefinitely.
  • Network handlers register once per connection; reconnecting or changing worlds reloads permission state and requests a fresh snapshot.
  • Guardian and resting-bottle interactions now distinguish permissions still loading from an actual refusal by the original owner. Existing owners, bottles and saved permissions remain compatible.

0.14.1

  • Fixed multiplayer player identification when granting or revoking guardian permissions. Remote players are resolved from their synchronized character, while retaining connection, character ownership and range checks.
  • The same correction restores remote summon, guardian command and status requests affected by the legacy connection field.
  • Permission messages now distinguish distance, unavailable players and server storage failures in all nine languages. Existing ally permissions and guardians remain compatible.

0.14.0

  • Added animated 3D bottles for dropped items and horizontal/vertical wooden item stands, in all eight biome colors.
  • Floating spirit, seven moving motes, two mist ribbons and a colored interior uplight. Geometry and materials are shared; distant bottles pause motion and nearby bottles enable their light.
  • Crafted and resting bottles use the same visuals. Existing bottle IDs, ownership, stored health, recipes and guardian behavior remain compatible.
  • Models and textures are embedded in the DLL. The package contains player documentation and game resources only.

0.13.1

  • Replaced all eight biome bottle icons with matching renders of the custom Blender bottle: stronger interior uplight, subtly tinted glass, and a floating horned spirit.
  • Transparent 256 × 256 RGBA icons are embedded in the DLL and used for recipes, inventory, resting bottles and guardian map markers. The existing biome color assignments are preserved.
  • Prepared eight editable animated Blender variants and 512 × 512 source renders. The new 3D meshes, lights and animations are not yet used by world items; this release updates the icons.

0.13.0

  • Public name changed from TrophyGuard to 9 Bottle Guardians. Plugin GUID, assembly name, prefab IDs, configuration and journals remain unchanged for save compatibility.
  • Active limit reduced to 9 guardians per original owner and world, including guardians controlled by allies or in unloaded areas. Existing worlds with ten keep them; new summons require fewer than nine active guardians.
  • Added German, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Turkish and Korean alongside English and Spanish. All nine languages include all 60 guardian/bottle/resting names, distinct variant names, controls, descriptions and messages.
  • Short English README with a banner; the detailed Spanish reference is preserved as GUIDE_ES.md. Localization resources are embedded in the DLL.
  • Added checks for the ninth/tenth summon boundary, old over-capacity worlds, shared ownership limits, localization completeness, recipe/health/timer values and compatibility identifiers.

0.5.0
