Live Viking and folk radio on your ship. F8 changes stations. Free Radio Browser discovery, spatial audio, volume control and optional local OGG playlists.
Added live internet radio using the free Radio Browser API, enabled by default without an API key or account.
Random station selection across Viking, Nordic folk, folk metal and pagan metal tags. F8 at the helm selects another station; broadcasters choose songs within their live programs.
Nearby listeners resolve the captain's station ID and connect directly to the broadcaster. One nearest radio ship per listener, existing spatial volume and 10–40 m attenuation; stream connections stop beyond 50 m or when the helm is released.
Added bounded MP3 streaming with NLayer 3.0.0 (MIT), background network/decoding work, two-second startup buffering, ICY metadata handling and reconnect backoff. Radio audio stays in memory and is not sent through Valheim RPCs.
Added live Radio.Enabled and Radio.Tags settings; disable radio to restore local OGG/F8 playlists and optional file sharing. Local boat music plays during buffering or outages when available.
MP3 streams only in this release; AAC/HLS stations are excluded. Clients may hear different delays or broadcaster advertisements; playback is not sample synchronized.
Verified radio lifecycle and buffer tests plus actual API discovery and decoding of CeltCast and Radio Skald streams. In-game audio and two-client validation remain manual checks.
0.6.1
Removed the 150 ms pause between chunks; up to 16 chunk requests stay in flight.
Added bounded upload queues, alternating listeners and out-of-order reception with missing-chunk retries.
Added live UploadLimitKBps configuration (64–4096 KiB/s), defaulting to 1024 KiB/s across all listeners.
Downloads time out after 22 seconds without progress; selection changes and disabling sharing discard pending work.
Kept the v1 wire format and existing disk cache; update both captain and listeners to benefit fully.
Verified 4 MiB in approximately 4.1 seconds at simulated 100 ms RTT, plus loss, reordering, two listeners and live rate changes. Real multiplayer speed is not yet measured.
0.6.0
Opt-in sharing of the captain's actual OGG recording through addressed routed RPCs.
Separate send/receive settings, compressed file limit and bounded disk cache.
Chunked downloads, SHA-256 integrity verification, timeout and stale-selection cancellation.
Cached recordings are reused and playback starts at an approximate shared position.
Local music remains the fallback when sharing is off or unavailable.
Verified with protocol and simulated transport tests; real two-client gameplay validation is still required.
0.5.0
Added a custom OGG Vorbis playlist in the tracks folder next to the DLL.
F8 at the helm cycles extra tracks by filename, then returns to the boat default.
Releasing and retaking the helm resets the selected track.
The captain's selection is shared through player ZDO state; audio files and playback timestamps are not transmitted.
Listeners missing a selected track fall back to their boat's default song.
0.4.1
Added full Russian and English documentation, installation instructions and troubleshooting.
Documented custom tracks, multiplayer limitations and music rights disclaimer.
Added the published mod page to package metadata.
Playback behavior is unchanged from 0.4.0.
0.4.0
Separate tracks for Raft, Karve, Longship and Drakkar.
Spatial playback while a ship's helm is occupied.
Live volume configuration.
