Eir
Fixes the mods we run that are broken, at runtime, without touching their files. Covers Weedheim for now. Each fix is optional and is removed once the author fixes it themselves.Eir
Mods get outdated. Eir repairs those mods while the game is running, without touching any of their files, so we can keep playing them.
Eir was the Norse goddess of healing. That is the whole job.
Install it and forget it. Nothing to open, no key to press, nothing on screen.
What It Covers
Weedheim, which needs a hand to run properly on Valheim 1.0. With Eir installed:
- Joints, the bong, mushrooms and the CBD potion all work
- The screen effects show up while you are stoned or tripping
- No more stutter when you spawn, die, respawn or teleport
- One smoke at a time, so you cannot run every strain's buff at once
- Loki's Special Blend needs the Magical Bong in hand, the way it was meant to
That is the whole list for now. It will grow if we pick up other mods that need it.
Tweaks
Separate from the fixes, Eir carries a couple of settings that change how a mod plays to suit our server rather than repair anything. They live in their own section so the two never get mixed up.
Three so far:
- A Pothead skill that levels as you smoke. Every high lasts longer as it rises, up to twice as long at 100. It is a slow climb on purpose: you cannot smoke faster than one high at a time, and the longer your highs get the longer the wait between them
- What Loki charges for his Special Blend, 100 coins by default
- The CBD potion clears the screen effects but keeps your buff running, rather than ending the high altogether, which makes it worth carrying
Fixes Come Back Out
A fix stays only as long as it is needed. Once a mod is updated and no longer needs the help, its fix is removed. If that empties Eir out, Eir is done and you can uninstall it.
Eir also checks the version of anything it touches, and leaves a mod alone if it has moved on to something Eir was not built for.
You Do Not Need The Mods It Covers
Eir needs nothing but BepInEx. Anything aimed at a mod you do not have simply does nothing, and installing Eir will never pull another mod in with it.
Settings

If Something Looks Wrong
Check BepInEx/LogOutput.log. Eir writes a line for each fix when the game starts, saying
whether it was applied, skipped, or could not be applied. If a fix could not be applied, the mod
has changed and the fix did nothing, so it is worth reporting.
Install
Client only. A server install does nothing.
Credits
All the real work is the mod authors'. Eir only keeps their mods running.
