TrophyPity
Client-side trophy pity system for Valheim; repeated unsuccessful trophy hunts build toward a guaranteed drop (experimental).TrophyPity
Hunt the creature. Earn the trophy. No more endless unlucky streaks.
TrophyPity is a client-side Valheim mod that adds a pity system for creature trophy drops. Normal random drops remain possible, but repeated unsuccessful hunts build toward a guaranteed trophy instead of leaving you unlucky forever.
How it works
- Kill a creature that can drop a trophy (for example, a wolf).
- A natural trophy drop remains possible as usual.
- When no trophy drops, the mod tracks the unsuccessful attempt toward that creature's pity threshold.
- When the configured threshold is reached, the mod is designed to award the trophy.
The threshold depends on the configuration; consult your generated BepInEx configuration file for available settings. TrophyPity does not promise a particular default threshold in this description.
Features
- Keeps Valheim's normal random trophy-drop chances.
- Adds a configurable fallback against long streaks without trophies.
- Designed to make trophy hunting less repetitive.
Installation — client-side only
- Install BepInExPack for Valheim on your own Valheim game client.
- Install this package with a compatible mod manager, or place
TrophyPity.dllin your client'sBepInEx/plugins/TrophyPity/folder. - Launch Valheim and check the BepInEx log for the TrophyPity startup message.
Do not install this release only on a dedicated server and expect it to track players' kills. Dedicated-server-only support is not implemented/verified for this release. Players who want to use the mod should install it on their own game clients.
Release status and limitations
This is an experimental 1.0.1 package containing the existing v0.2.0 test DLL. The package metadata says 1.0.1, but the DLL itself still identifies as v0.2.0. The DLL has not been rebuilt or re-versioned, and full client-side gameplay testing has not been independently verified for this package. Treat the described pity behavior as the intended feature, not a guarantee that this particular binary is bug-free.
Future updates
Dedicated-server-only support for kills made by unmodded clients is planned for a later version, after testing. No client-free multiplayer functionality is promised in 1.0.1.
Bug reports
Please include the Valheim version, BepInEx log, creature type, configured threshold, whether a natural trophy dropped, and whether the mod was installed on the player's client.
