Vargheim — a Ghost Pack server

⚔️ Vargheim Season 2 — pre-registration open

Vargheim is a Ghost Pack community server with a hand-built ruleset: pick three professions and the whole modded economy runs through them; ships over portals; seasons that change what grows and what sails; zone scaling and a season gate so everyone starts the same day. Season 2 is in closed testing now and opens soon. Spots are limited — join the Discord to pre-register. The mod list, sync code and start date go out there first.

VargheimStatues

Epic Norse statues any builder can raise: Odin, the Valkyrie, Fenring, Moder, Eikthyr, a stag, a drake, a Troll, the Elder, Yagluth, a wolf, a lox — ten metres of stone on a plinth. Goes on the server and on every player's PC.

What it does

  • Statues under Decor and Misc in the hammer (Odin, the Valkyrie, Fenring, Moder, Eikthyr, a stag, a drake, a Troll, the Elder, Yagluth, a wolf, a lox), each carved from the game's own creature model, frozen in stone, 10 m tall by default (Height), on a round plinth. Cost: Stone 100, Wood 20 (Resources).
  • Statues cannot be damaged (Indestructible); the hammer removes them as usual. They give +1 comfort like any decoration.
  • Blessings: an admin (devcommands on) looks at a statue and types vstatue bless <name>. The blessing lives on the statue — every player standing within its radius gets the buff, shown as a status icon. vstatue clear removes it, vstatue list shows the ones defined, vstatue info reads a statue. Default blessings: vigor (health and stamina regen ×1.5, 30 m), stride (+10% speed, +100 carry, 30 m), wisdom (+50% skill gain, 30 m), peace (no creature spawns or raids, 30 m), allfather (all of it, 40 m). Define your own in [Blessings] Definitions.
  • Hover a statue to see its name and blessing.

Settings (digi.vargheim.statues.cfg)

Setting Default What it does
Figures 12 entries key:creaturePrefab:displayName[:scaleTweak], ;-separated. Any creature prefab works (Deer, Boar, Drake, SeekerQueen, Fader…).
Height 10 Figure height in metres
Resources Stone:100,Wood:20 Build cost
Material / PlinthMaterial grey stone #rrggbb[,metallic, smoothness] or a vanilla piece prefab to borrow its material
PlinthHeight 1.2 Plinth height (0 = none)
Indestructible true No damage from anything
[Blessings] Definitions see above name: key=value, … with hpregen, stamregen, eitrregen (multipliers), carry (kg), speed, skillgain, damage (fractions), nospawn (1/0), radius (m)
[Blessings] AdminOnly true Only devcommands users can bless

The figures are built at world load, so changing Figures, Height or the materials needs a relog (server: restart). Blessing definitions are read at load too; a blessing already on a statue keeps working by name.

Compatibility

Needs the vanilla creature prefabs it names (all 1.0 builds). No other dependencies. Works alongside the Vargheim profession pack and everything else in the Season 2 list.

Changelog

  • 0.4.1 — Part costs: every statue totals 1000 Stone + 300 Wood (sidecar stoneCost/woodCost; read by Statue Workshop 0.3.12).

  • 0.4.0 — Only Odin and the two Guardians (Axe, Spear) remain; the 18 creature-carved statues (old Odin, Valkyrie, Fenring, Moder, Eikthyr, Stag, Drake, Troll, Elder, Yagluth, Wolf ×2, Lox, five jotnar) are retired and stripped from existing configs at load. Already-placed ones disappear from a world on the next load — fine for the test world; Season 2 starts on a fresh world.

  • 0.3.7 — Fixed the stacking collapse for real: every part carried a TerrainModifier (ClearGrass) and Valheim's TerrainModifier.OnPlaced → RemoveOthers destroyed the parts already standing on the same point when a new part was placed. Statue modifiers no longer evict anything and nothing evicts a statue through that path. Support-wear flag is re-read from wood_wall once ZNetScene exists and logged (the 0.3.6 self-check never printed).

  • 0.3.6 — the support-wear flag is derived from a vanilla piece at runtime (Valheim 1.0.21 inverted m_noSupportWear); shared helper SupportWear.Off() used by the Statue Workshop.

  • 0.3.5 — stripping a cloned creature now removes components in dependency order (the "Can't remove Humanoid because CharacterDrop depends on it" log lines are gone); welded accessory LOD meshes for the modular statue families (AxeSentinel, Odin, SpearSentinel shields, weapons and raven).

  • 0.3.4 — loads compact binary meshes (name.vsm, written by tools/vsm/obj2vsm.py) in place of name.obj when both sit in the same folder. Figures rows and sidecars keep the .obj name.

  • 0.3.3 — the old single-mesh sculpted Odin (OdinCarved) is removed with its model file; the modular statues from Statue Workshop replace it. Configs still on the 0.3.0–0.3.2 default move to the new one.

  • 0.3.2 — each statue gets its own build-menu icon, rendered from the statue itself (they all showed the stone-wall icon).

  • 0.3.1 — statues show under the Decor and Misc tabs of the 1.0 build menu (they were filed under Wall, from their stone-wall base).

  • 0.3.0 — statues from your own 3D models: put a .obj in the mod's models folder (or BepInEx/config/VargheimStatues/models) and name it in Figures. First one: a sculpted Odin with Gungnir and a raven (OdinCarved).

  • 0.2.7 — five walkway jotnar at half height (stone, fire, charred warrior, troll, fuling); vstatue find <text> lists creature prefabs to carve.

  • 0.2.6 — a second, quarter-size wolf (WolfSmall).

  • 0.2.5 — the Elder 40% bigger; vstatue size <x> tries a size on the statue you look at (vstatue pose save keeps it).

  • 0.2.4 — the stag is a stag: antlers kept, half size. Figures entries take a parts rule (+antler keeps a hidden part, -saddle drops one).

  • 0.2.3 — vstatue pose (admin): try any animation frame on the statue you look at (vstatue pose Thunderclap@40%), list clips, save it into the config, reset.

  • 0.2.2 — figures centred on their feet, not their bounding box (Moder sat off the front of her plinth).

  • 0.2.1 — Odin keeps his staff (a renamed primitive mesh is a real part); parts left out are named in the log.

  • 0.2.0 — statues stand in the creature's idle pose instead of the T-shaped rest pose (per-figure pose override, clip names logged); carved finish: each creature's own surface detail cut into the stone colour (Finish, Detail); parts the creature doesn't show (saddles, helper capsules, effects) left out; figures stand on their feet; plinth sized to the feet, not the wings (PlinthRadius), stepped, solid, sunk into slopes, with stone grain; grass cleared underneath (ClearGrass).

  • 0.1.0 — first release: twelve carved creatures, plinth, blessings with vstatue.
