DALCompass
A client-side heading compass for the Dropped and Lost world. Shows your last three deaths with a distance. A marker clears when you empty its grave; F10 clears all.DAL Compass
A heading bar for the top of your screen, made for the Dropped and Lost world (no map, no pings). Part of the same set as Lost Camps. It works in any Valheim world.
- Three looks, F8 cycles them: a heading bar across the top, a round dial in the top-right corner, or a plain text line. Your choice is remembered. F9 shows or hides the compass.
- Last three deaths: each death leaves a red marker on the bar, newest brightest, with a rounded distance underneath (for example
240 mor1.2 km). If the spot is behind you, the marker sits at the edge of the bar with an arrow showing which way to turn. - A death marker clears by itself when you empty that grave (it vanishes), and the other markers stay, so you can recover several graves one by one.
- F10 forgets all death markers (a message confirms it).
Install (server owners: this mod is also what lets the server check player mods)
Client only. Put DalCompass.dll in BepInEx/plugins/DALCompass/. The server needs nothing and is never contacted.
Notes
- Death spots are remembered on your PC only, one file per character and world, in
BepInEx/config/DalCompass/. Delete a file to forget it. - No coordinates are ever shown, only a direction and a rounded distance.
- Keys can be changed in
BepInEx/config/com.laoch.dalcompass.cfg. - Not affected by the in-game HUD scale yet.
Server mod list (optional)
Note for server owners: if you use Lost Camps too, add com.laoch.lostcamps to the mod list, or players who have it will be turned away.
Some servers keep a list of allowed mods. DAL Compass tells the server which BepInEx plugins you run (their ids, versions and file hashes, never your files, name or paths) when you connect. A server without the list ignores it. The same list is saved on your PC at BepInEx/config/DalCompass/my-mods.txt, so an admin can copy it.
If a server rejects you, the reason is in your BepInEx log (for example not allowed: some.mod).
