Immersive Auto Fuelers 1.1.1

Keep your fires and lights burning with three decorative fuel containers. Store fuel inside, and they automatically refill supported nearby items with matching fuel.

Buildable pieces

All three require a Forge, have six inventory slots (3 x 2), and default to a 12-meter radius.

Piece Recipe Supported targets and fuel
Firewood Rack 30 Wood, 6 Iron, 3 Bronze Campfire, Hearth, Bonfire, Iron Fire Pit, Stone Oven, Hot Tub. Uses Wood first, then Core Wood and Fine Wood.
Lamplighter's Barrel 1 Barrel Hoop, 12 Wood, 3 Bronze, 25 Resin Resin: Standing Wood Torch, Standing Iron Torch, Sconce, Jack-o-turnip, Snow Lantern. Guck: Standing Green Torch. Greydwarf Eyes: Standing Blue Torch.
Brazier Scuttle 4 Bronze, 2 Iron, 25 Coal Coal: Standing Brazier and Hanging Brazier. Greydwarf Eyes: Standing Blue Brazier.

The rack does not fuel kilns or rams. The scuttle does not fuel smelters or blast furnaces. Unrelated stored items are not consumed.

Features and controls

  • Placement displays a white ground circle showing the configured range.
  • A connection tab lists supplied targets and current burn rates per real-life hour.
  • Hover text identifies the supplier. Shift + E toggles auto fueling on a supported target.
  • Fueling checks run approximately every five seconds and pause while the supplying inventory is open.
  • Targets must be loaded. Discovery and ownership settling can delay initial refilling.
  • Overlapping compatible containers select the nearest supplier. An empty nearest supplier does not fall back to a farther container.
  • Breaking a piece returns recipe materials and remaining contents through vanilla destruction behavior, subject to vanilla world settings. Already consumed fuel is not returned.

The burn-rate display estimates fuel burning, rather than measuring withdrawals. Filling existing shortages can consume several items together even when the hourly burn rate is low.

Requirements and installation

Requires BepInEx 5 for Valheim. Configuration Manager is optional; Jotunn is not required.

Install through Vortex or a compatible mod manager. For manual installation, close Valheim and place the plugin DLL at:

BepInEx/plugins/ImmersiveAutoFuelers/ImmersiveAutoFuelers.dll

Keep only one installed copy. Install the same version on every client and the host or dedicated server.

Configuration

Use Configuration Manager or edit:

BepInEx/config/camde.valheim.immersiveautofuelers.cfg

Each piece has its own build-menu toggle and radius setting (1-128 meters). Multiplayer uses server radius and build-menu settings. Hiding a recipe leaves existing placed pieces functional.

Languages

The mod follows each player's selected Valheim language, independently in multiplayer. Names, descriptions, hover instructions, connection labels, consumption-rate units and Configuration Manager labels/tooltips are localized. Changing the game language refreshes the mod text without changing saved pieces or configuration keys.

English and 34 other Valheim language slots have complete custom UI strings: Swedish, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Turkish, Lithuanian, Czech, Hungarian, Slovak, Polish, Dutch, European Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Thai, Croatian, Georgian, Greek, Serbian, Ukrainian and Latvian.

Abenaki: uses Valheim's existing Abenaki item/building terms where available, with an explicit English fallback for new mod-specific phrases. A fluent Abenaki contributor is needed before those phrases can be called translated.

Existing game translations take priority for vanilla fuels and buildings, with additional popup labels where the game's community translations are incomplete. Custom translations are written in context and checked for missing text and format placeholders; they have not all been reviewed by native speakers. Please report awkward wording with the language, screenshot and suggested correction.

Internal prefab IDs, saved item identities, RPC names and config section/key identifiers remain stable. Diagnostic log types and connection identifiers remain in English for cross-player comparison. The optional Configuration Manager interface uses localized display names; its underlying config-file keys remain the existing identifiers.

Diagnostic logs and reporting issues

Logging is enabled by default for all three containers. Disable locally under Diagnostics > Enable diagnostic logs, or set:

[Diagnostics]
Enable diagnostic logs = false

Each client/server records its own files in:

BepInEx/ImmersiveAutoFuelers-Logs

Inventory and fueling logs have timestamped filenames. Restarting creates a new session. Total managed diagnostic storage is capped at 50 MiB (approximately 50 MB); older completed pairs are removed as needed, with no age limit. Long sessions rotate into smaller pairs.

If fuel unexpectedly disappears, duplicates, or fails to refill:

  1. Note the approximate time and what happened, then exit normally if possible.
  2. Copy and ZIP the entire diagnostic logs folder.
  3. Include BepInEx/LogOutput.log and the mod's config file.
  4. Send the archive or a download link to GlobalFriction with your issue report.

For multiplayer, collect the host/server and affected players' files and label each archive. Copy promptly: ordinary LogOutput.log may be overwritten on restart, and diagnostic files rotate when storage fills. Logs include player names/IDs, world identifiers and positions; share privately if preferred.

Multiplayer safeguards

Includes ownership settling, elapsed-burn handling before fireplace refills, immediate fireplace deposit verification, and protection against rapid repeated fireplace withdrawals. Diagnostic logging supports continued investigation; these safeguards are not a guarantee against every multiplayer synchronization issue.

Source build and validation

Run Build.ps1 -ValheimPath <your Valheim folder>. All translation strings are embedded from UTF-8 Translations.tsv; no additional runtime localization mod is required.

Version 1.1.1 fixes repeated Harmony warnings when optional Configuration Manager is absent, including on dedicated servers. It also fixes automatic-fueling hover text reverting to English when other mods create temporary localization instances. Each player's selected language now controls the supplier text and enable/disable hints for all three fuelers.

Validation includes 3,153 localization assertions; 16 optional-plugin integration assertions, including 28,800 absent-plugin retries; 24 integration assertions using the installed HarmonyX patching libraries; 343 fuel-rule assertions; and 16 filesystem log-retention assertions. Game and BepInEx APIs are simulated in the localization tests. The plugin also builds against the installed Valheim/BepInEx assemblies. These checks do not replace visual testing inside Unity or a live multiplayer session.
