SmoothClimbing
Climb walls, cliffs, trees and rocks with hands and feet placed on the surface, a body that shifts its weight, and mantling over the top. A fork of Rotceh999's ClimbingMod.Changelog
1.0.4
- Bug reports and feedback: GitHub.
1.0.3
Smoother climbing animation:
- Arms and legs no longer snap straight at full stretch, and elbows and knees no longer flip from one side to the other.
- Hands lay onto the surface and come off it smoothly instead of turning at the wrist in one frame.
- The body no longer lurches towards and away from bumpy rock or gaps between logs and stones.
- Small corrections of a hand or foot are short and low instead of a full reach.
- No jolt at the start of a mantle or crawl over the top, nor when taking hold of a wall or letting go.
- The climbing pose behaves the same at any frame rate.
1.0.2
- New icon.
1.0.1
- Capes, and a first-person camera on the head (as with Azumatt's FirstPersonMode), hold still while climbing instead of shaking.
- Next to no work on the physics step while not climbing.
1.0.0
First release of Smooth Climbing, forked from Rotceh999's ClimbingMod 1.1.5.
- Hands and feet are placed on the surface being climbed, within the joints' natural range.
- The body follows a gait taken from the climbing animation and shifts its weight to the limb that is moving.
- Sideways climbing, inside corners, overhangs, trees and rocks.
- Mantling over the top edge instead of rising upright past it; pausing at the edge keeps the hands on the ledge.
- Steadier hips and limbs while hanging still.
- Grabbing a wall ends a slide.
- Changing equipment while climbing no longer breaks the pose.
- Climbing is now a real skill: it shows on the skills screen, is saved with the character instead of resetting at every login and death, and works with
raiseskillandresetskill. It levels like the game's own skills;ClimbSkillGainRatereplaces the old XP settings. - Uses its own plugin ID and config file (
hansenbansen.smoothclimbing.cfg), and will not load next to the original ClimbingMod.
