Portal Ores & Teleport Markers

Transport ores, minerals, metals and other restricted items through Valheim portals, and create personal teleport markers using simple /tp commands.

Thunderstore package

Expected published identifier: masukito-PortalOresAndTeleportMarkers.

The manifest package name remains PortalOresAndTeleportMarkers. Thunderstore adds the masukito- prefix only when the ZIP is uploaded using the masukito team. The ZIP filename alone does not assign ownership. See PUBLISHING.md for the release procedure.

Features

  • Allows ores, metals and other restricted items to pass through any Valheim portal.
  • Removes the non-teleportable restriction while the mod is enabled.
  • Hides the non-teleportable icon and tooltip warning from affected items.
  • Creates personal teleport points at the player's exact position and altitude.
  • Teleports to saved markers using /tp markerName.
  • Supports marker names with spaces.
  • Provides marker autocomplete using the Tab key.
  • Stores markers locally for each player and world.
  • Supports Brazilian Portuguese and English.

Portal transport

This Valheim portal mod allows items normally blocked by portal restrictions to be transported through them. This includes:

  • Copper ore
  • Tin ore
  • Iron
  • Silver
  • Black metal
  • Flametal
  • Processed metals
  • Dragon eggs
  • Quest items
  • Other vanilla or modded items using Valheim's standard teleport restriction

The rule is applied dynamically and does not depend on a fixed item list. It makes non-teleportable items eligible for portal travel without changing weight, stack size, recipes, damage, value, prefab data, or other item properties.

Teleport markers

Create personal teleport points using your exact current coordinates, including the Y coordinate for altitude, and rotation.

Commands

/tp create markerName
/tp markerName
/tp player playerName
/tp delete markerName
/tp list
/tp help

Examples

/tp create Main Base
/tp Main Base
/tp player Anderson David
/tp delete Main Base
/tp list
/tp help

Press Tab while typing a marker name to autocomplete and cycle through matching markers. Names may contain spaces. Marker cooldown, per-world limit, result limit, and fuzzy autocomplete are configurable.

Teleport to players

Use:

/tp player playerName

to teleport near another player connected to the same world. The command and autocomplete use the character name shown in the world, never the Steam, PlayFab, or platform display name. Press Tab or Shift + Tab to cycle through current character names; names containing spaces and accent-insensitive partial searches are supported.

The command excludes the local player, rejects ambiguous or duplicate character names, never persists player positions, and obtains the target's current position immediately before teleporting. It prefers an active remote Player transform, then a loaded ZDO, and finally the same public ZNet.PlayerInfo position consumed by the minimap. The map fallback works while the map is closed and respects Valheim's position-sharing option. A small position beside, behind, or in front of the target is selected to avoid overlapping player colliders while preserving the target altitude. The marker teleport cooldown is shared with player teleportation.

Collision information may not be loaded for very distant destinations until Valheim streams the area. Players on moving ships or platforms may also move between resolution and arrival; the command uses the freshest replicated position available and fails safely when no valid nearby point can be established.

Markers are stored locally on each player's computer, separated by player profile and persistent world ID. They are not synchronized with the server, are not visible to other players, and do not transfer automatically to another computer. The local database remains at:

BepInEx/config/UnrestrictedMineralPortals/teleport-markers.json

This path intentionally retains the previous internal name so existing markers continue to load after updating.

Installation

Thunderstore or r2modman

Install Portal Ores & Teleport Markers using your preferred Thunderstore-compatible mod manager. Requires BepInExPack Valheim.

Manual installation

Copy the plugin DLL to:

BepInEx/plugins/PortalOresAndTeleportMarkers/UnrestrictedMineralPortals.dll

The DLL keeps its previous filename to preserve safe upgrades. Remove older duplicate copies such as UnrestrictedMineralPortals-1.1.0.dll; development deployment scripts clean known filenames inside the configured plugins directory.

Multiplayer

The portal restriction feature works for players using the mod. Each player who wants to transport ores through portals or use /tp commands must install the mod locally.

Teleport markers are stored locally on each player's computer and are not shared or synchronized with the server. Installing the DLL on a dedicated server does not share marker data between clients.

Configuration

[General]
Enabled = true
Language = auto
DebugLogging = false

[TeleportMarkers]
Enabled = true
MaxMarkersPerPlayer = 50
CooldownSeconds = 3
AllowInMultiplayer = true
AutoCompleteEnabled = true
AutoCompleteMaxSuggestions = 20
AutoCompleteFuzzySearch = true

[TeleportPlayers]
Enabled = true

Existing configuration files keep working because the BepInEx GUID and internal project name are unchanged. Obsolete synchronization settings from older releases are ignored.

Language

Supported options:

  • auto — follows the Valheim game language when supported
  • pt-BR — Brazilian Portuguese
  • en — English

Aliases such as pt, Portuguese, en-US, and English are accepted. Unsupported game languages fall back to English.

Compatibility

Portal transport uses a minimal postfix on Valheim's standard Inventory.IsTeleportable() validation. UI handling hides the confirmed restriction indicator without permanently changing item data, replacing inventory grids, or removing listeners. Vanilla and modded items work when they use the standard teleport restriction.

Uninstallation

Delete UnrestrictedMineralPortals.dll. Optionally delete its configuration and local marker database if you do not want to retain settings or teleport points.

Manual test checklist

  • Carry copper, tin, iron, silver, black metal, flametal, a dragon egg, and a modded restricted item through a portal.
  • Confirm the non-teleportable icon and tooltip warning are hidden while enabled and restored when disabled.
  • Run /tp help, create a marker with spaces, list it, teleport to it, and delete it.
  • Verify exact altitude, cooldown, limits, persistence, separate profiles/worlds, Tab autocomplete, Portuguese, and English.
  • Connect two clients and confirm local teleport markers remain private while portal transport works for installed clients.
