Korean Font Fallback

Some Valheim UI elements — and many mod UIs built on them — use decorative fonts such as Norsebold that contain no Hangul glyphs. When the game language is set to Korean, text drawn with those fonts simply does not appear: not a box, not a question mark, just an empty space.

A common example is the tab strip of EpicLoot's enchanting table, which renders fine in English but comes up blank in Korean.

This mod fixes that by registering the game's built-in NotoSansKR font as a fallback for every font that lacks Hangul. No font files are added or shipped — the font is already inside Valheim.

Effect on other languages

None. A fallback font is only consulted for characters the original font cannot draw, so English (and every other language whose glyphs already exist) keeps its original look, including the decorative fonts.

Notes

• Also fixes the same problem in other mods' UIs, not just EpicLoot.
• Works with the game language set to Korean; harmless otherwise.
• Registration is retried for a short while after startup so that UIs created later are covered too, then stops.

한국어

발헤임의 일부 UI와 그 위에 만들어진 모드 UI는 Norsebold 같은 장식 폰트를 사용하는데, 이 폰트에는 한글 글리프가 없습니다. 그래서 게임 언어를 한국어로 하면 해당 텍스트가 아무것도 보이지 않습니다(□도 아니고 그냥 빈칸).

대표적으로 EpicLoot 인챈트 작업대의 탭 이름이 영어에서는 잘 나오지만 한국어에서는 비어 보입니다.

이 모드는 게임에 이미 내장된 NotoSansKR 폰트를 한글이 없는 폰트들의 대체 폰트로 등록해 이 문제를 해결합니다. 폰트 파일을 새로 추가하거나 동봉하지 않습니다.

다른 언어에 미치는 영향

없습니다. 대체 폰트는 원래 폰트가 그리지 못하는 글자에만 쓰이므로, 영어를 비롯해 글리프가 이미 있는 언어는 장식 폰트 그대로 표시됩니다.
