SaunaMod
Finally, a real Viking sauna in Valheim. Heat the stones, pour on the water, and steam yourself properly. The thing we have all been waiting for. Vanilla-flavoured and multiplayer-ready.Sauna
Finally, a real Viking sauna in Valheim.
A rough dome of stones with a fire burning inside. Stoke it with wood, and when the stones are hot, pour water on them. The room fills with steam. Sit in it. The heat stays with you for a long while after you leave.
How it works
Build the Sauna stove from the Furniture tab of the hammer (10 wood, 5 coal, 40 stone, workbench nearby). Feed it wood like any fire.
Hold Shift + E on a burning stove to pour water on the stones. Steam rolls out low and slow and spreads through the room, filling it from wall to wall. It holds under a roof and drifts away in the open, so a proper steam room needs walls and a ceiling. One pour keeps the room steamy for about forty seconds. The stones need a moment before you can pour again.
Effects
Steaming — while you stand in the steam. Slowly restores health. Stepping out of the steam for a moment will not undo your progress.
Well steamed — earned after a while in the steam, and it grows the longer you stay. The heat stays in your body: the night cold does not touch you, and being wet no longer slows your recovery. Mountain frost is another matter — a bath will not save you there.
Multiplayer
Everyone must have the mod, including the dedicated server, and the same version. One player pouring fills the room for everyone present.
Install
Use Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman — dependencies are handled for you.
Manual install: drop the contents of plugins into
BepInEx/plugins/SaunaMod/, keeping the icons and sounds folders
next to the DLL.
Requires BepInEx and Jotunn.
Notes
Built entirely from assets already in the game — no new models or textures are shipped. The stove is assembled at runtime from Valheim's own stones, so it fits the world it stands in.
