💀 Fatal Fall
Server-authoritative fall damage overhaul for Valheim.
Fatal Fall makes falls truly deadly.
Extreme drops will deal 100+ damage and reliably kill careless players, no silent caps, no soft landings, no vanilla forgiveness.
Optional experimental systems exist for servers that want them.
CORE
-
Uncapped Fall Damage (Default ON)
- Removes vanilla’s effective fall-damage ceiling
- Extreme falls deal extreme damage
- High drops are reliably lethal (100+ damage)
- Server-authoritative and multiplayer safe
-
Server-Enforced Damage Logic
- Damage handled through
Character.RPC_Damage - No client-side spoofing or bypassing
- Dedicated-server compatible
- Damage handled through
-
Vanilla-Respecting Philosophy
- No stat inflation
- No fake knockdowns or invulnerability
- You fall — you die
OPTIONAL: BORDERLINE MODE (Experimental)
Disabled by default.
Borderline Mode is an experimental survival mechanic for servers that want near-death drama instead of instant death.
- Can spare a player from a near-lethal hit
- Leaves them at critical HP instead of dead
- Protected by cooldown to prevent abuse
This system is intentionally:
- Off by default
- Clearly labeled experimental
- Heavily configurable
OPTIONAL: BLEEDING CONSEQUENCE
Used only with Borderline Mode.
- Applies a Bleeding StatusEffect after a save
- Damage over time reinforces that mistakes matter
- Configurable duration, DPS, and minimum HP floor
- Optional skip if Staff of Protection bubble is active
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
- Popup messages (fall vs non-fall pools)
- Heartbeat sound on near-death events
- Stagger on survival
- Debug logging for server operators
CONFIGS
Config file:
BepInEx/config/Pix.FatalFall.cfg

- Uncapped Fall Damage: ENABLED
- Borderline Mode: DISABLED
Everything is configurable:

If upgrading from older versions and behavior seems off, delete the config to regenerate defaults.
SERVERS

- Borderline saves and cooldowns are authoritative
- Clients cannot spoof damage outcomes
Safe for:
- Dedicated servers
