Marriage

Get married. Form Households.
A proximity-based buff system for Valheim that rewards loyalty, survival, and actually playing together.

Marriage lets players form persistent Households (family-style groups) that gain shared bonuses when nearby, grow stronger the longer they survive together, and feel the loss when one of their own dies.

COMMANDS

/marry <player> — Invite a player to your Household
/ido — Accept the most recent invite
/idont — Decline the most recent invite
/divorce — Leave your current Household

CONFIGS
  • Proximity range (meters)
  • Tier pacing (days per tier)
  • Tier bonus scaling & caps
  • Buffed stats:
    • Movement speed
    • Damage
    • Stamina regen
    • Health regen
    • Eitr regen
  • Mourning duration & penalty scaling
  • Carry weight penalty during mourning
  • UI behavior (tooltips, progress toasts, announcements)
SERVERS
  • All logic runs server-side
  • Clients cannot spoof tiers, buffs, or progression
  • Bond time persists across reconnects and restarts
  • Stable player identity resolution (host + dedicated safe)
  • Proximity checks use ZDO-backed positions
