Admin Manager

What's new in 1.0.2

  • Added a new World Settings tab for live gameplay modifiers, restricted to the host and native server admins, with staged review and confirmation, Restore Defaults, and queued world saves.
  • Added admin-only player Invisibility through the Invisible command card and aminvisible, hiding the character, equipment, nameplate, and public map marker on matching clients.
  • Added server-controlled matching-client enforcement, enabled by default, with an optional mode for missing or mismatched clients.

Manage your Valheim world from one in-game panel. Control player abilities, manage permissions, inspect inventories, teleport players, adjust live world settings, and run world actions.

Moderation tools include Freeze, Kick, Ban, and Chicken Quarantine—turn a player into a chicken while leaving walking, chat, and Esc available.

Press F4 to open. Change the shortcut in the mod's BepInEx configuration.

Player abilities and tools

  • God Mode, Fly, Ghost, and No Cost.
  • Custom carry capacity from 300 to 100000, Unlimited Carry, and Unlimited Stamina.
  • Heal, Repair, Clear Status, Kill, and Respawn.
  • Teleport to Player and Bring Player.
  • Detached Build Cam and Free Fly camera modes.

Player actions use labeled icon cards, with active abilities highlighted and protected actions disabled. Builder Camera uses a native hammer with a feather cape overlay. Unlimited Stamina uses the Corpse Run icon; Unlimited Carry uses the strength belt with an infinity overlay.

The live player camera follows the selected player at a fixed viewing angle as they move or turn. Drag to orbit, or click Front / Back to choose a new angle. Zoom controls remain available.

Inventory previews and moderation

View online player and supported bot inventories, including item icons, stack counts, and equipped markers. Refresh the preview, select an item and quantity, then confirm Take or Delete.

  • Take creates a normal world pickup near the admin, preserving quality, durability, and custom data. Pick it up normally; it stays in the world if your inventory is full.
  • Delete permanently removes the confirmed quantity.
  • Changed or expired selections require a refreshed preview.

These actions are admin-only. Other admins cannot remove items from the host's inventory. Bots must be loaded on their owning machine. Offline inventories are unavailable.

Player moderation

Kick, Ban, Unban, Freeze, or place a player into Chicken Quarantine.

Freeze holds the current character in place and blocks movement and new attacks. Unfreeze releases it. Freeze applies for the session and remains separate from quarantine.

Chicken Quarantine

Give a player a chicken appearance while restricting their actions. They can still walk, look around, use ordinary chat, and open Esc, including settings and logout.

Attacks, building, item use, pickups, other interactions, inventory, map, console, AdminManager, and slash commands are blocked. Jumping, sprinting, dodging, and guardian powers are disabled. Unfreeze the player if they were already frozen and should be able to walk.

Trying to jump lays an egg instead: up to three eggs in any rolling ten-minute window, per account and world. The server saves and enforces the limit across reconnects, character changes, quarantine release/reapplication, and server restarts.

The player's character, inventory, and permission grants are retained. Active admin effects and resource modes are turned off. Human quarantine is saved per account and world, so reconnecting or switching characters does not remove it. Admins can release recorded accounts while they are offline. Bot quarantine applies to the selected network character for the current session.

Quarantine appearance and input restrictions require the affected client to run the mod. The server blocks quarantined accounts' AdminManager requests and native remote admin commands, but modified clients or other mods may bypass local controls. Quarantine is a moderation tool, not an anti-cheat system. If the client does not confirm activation, the panel reports it.

The host is protected from the panel's destructive player moderation, freeze, and quarantine actions.

World tools

Remove Drops, Tame, Stop Event, Sleep, Kill All, Kill Enemies, Skip Time, and Save World.

Save World is at the top of Commands. All command cards stay together in one grid, with carry, time, and radius controls below.

Choose a radius from 5–100 metres for Remove Drops, Tame, Kill All, and Kill Enemies. These actions affect loaded objects and creatures near the acting player. Kill All includes tamed creatures. Kill Enemies excludes tamed creatures.

Save World starts Valheim's normal save process. The panel reports when saving starts; Valheim reports completion. Build Cam respects workbench areas and normal building costs unless No Cost is enabled.

Permissions and offline players

Grant individual actions globally or per player, or promote trusted players to mod Admin. Global grants apply to everyone; removing a personal grant does not override a global grant.

Permissions are saved on the server using the world's unique ID. Continue on the same map tomorrow with the same grants, even after renaming it. Separate worlds with the same name use separate settings.

The Offline tab shows recorded player names and lets admins manage permissions, mod Admin access, bans, and quarantine. Older permission-only records show a player ID until the player's name is recorded on a later connection.

Carry Cap, Unlimited Carry, and Unlimited Stamina have separate permissions. A custom carry value is a minimum capacity and keeps an existing higher capacity. Active resource modes reset when leaving the session; saved permission grants remain.

Installation

Requires BepInExPack Valheim.

Install through your mod manager and launch the modded profile. For manual installation, place AdminManager.dll in:

BepInEx/plugins/AdminManager/

For multiplayer, install the same updated 1.0.2 build on the host or dedicated server and all participating clients, including players targeted by remote tools. Restart the game/server after updating.

Live World Settings

The separate World Settings tab lets the host and native Valheim server admins change gameplay rules while players remain connected:

  • Resource / drop rate, combat difficulty, raid frequency, death penalty, and portal restrictions.
  • Passive creatures, free building, map availability, and player-based raids.

The settings use a two-column card layout, with stepped sliders for Valheim's five native modifiers and toggles for on/off rules. Narrow windows switch to one column. The tab reads the current world values and uses Valheim's own modifier options. Stage changes, choose Review changes, then Confirm apply. Restore defaults stages the defaults for these controls for review; it preserves boss progression and unrelated world keys. Custom values outside the standard options stay unchanged until you explicitly edit their row.

Changes apply live, synchronize through Valheim's world-key system, and queue a normal world save. They do not multiply existing items, undo past deaths, or stop an active raid. Native save restrictions still apply. If another admin changes the settings while you are editing, refresh before applying again.

World settings affect everyone and are stored with the world. Ordinary players and mod Admins without native server-admin status cannot use this tab. Existing screenshots show 1.0.1; the World Settings tab is new in 1.0.2.

Admin invisibility

Use the Invisible card under Commands, or enter aminvisible in the console, to toggle your own player invisibility. This is restricted to the host, native server admins, and mod Admins; it cannot be granted as an ordinary player permission.

On matching Admin Manager clients, this hides your body, equipment, attached visual effects, lights, overhead name/health display, hover name, and public map marker. Attached audio sources are muted. Your previous appearance and map-sharing preference return when you turn it off. Invisibility resets on reconnect or character replacement/respawn, and is removed when admin access is revoked or quarantine applies.

Ghost remains a separate creature-detection toggle. Invisibility does not remove you from the online player list, disable collision, hide chat, or conceal world actions and effects created away from your character, such as dropped items or splashes. Keep matching-client enforcement enabled so all players can render the hidden state correctly.

Server connection requirement

By default, the host/server requires connecting players to have the same Admin Manager version and DLL build. A connection check runs before the player is admitted to the world; missing, incompatible, or nonresponsive clients are rejected. The DLL check also detects different builds that share the same version number.

The server owner can change this in BepInEx/config/adminmanager.cfg:

[Server]
RequireMatchingClient = true

Set this to false to allow clients with a missing or different build. Unsupported remote features may not work for those players. Restart the host/server after changing the setting. Only the server's setting controls admission; clients cannot opt out of a required check.

Clients with this updated mod see the rejection reason. Unmodded or older clients receive Valheim's standard incompatible-version error; the server log identifies the Admin Manager requirement. Matching clients continue through Valheim's normal password, ban, and version checks.

This checks reported compatibility; it does not prove that a deliberately modified client obeys the mod's restrictions.
