MMOHeim CustomAudio
A curated SFX and ambient sound pack for Valheim, built for the MMOHeim modpack. Replaces selected game sounds with a focused library tuned for atmosphere — natural ambience, UI polish, life-sim feedback, bow and block/shield audio, and a handful of creature and world touches. No custom music and no full melee combat SFX overhaul, so the world stays immersive without constant loud or immersion-breaking combat noise.
Despite the MMOHeim branding, this mod works in any modpack as a standalone audio pack (install only one CustomAudio-based audio mod at a time).

The empty CustomAudio/Music/ folder is intentional. Music in MMOHeim is handled separately (Expand World Music, MMOHeim Main Menu, etc.).

🤝 Key Features
- Atmosphere-first design: Ambient wind and forest day loops blend into the world instead of dominating it. SFX picks favor environment, UI, and feedback — not a wall of combat replacements.
- No immersion-breaking combat overhaul: Weapon swing/hit libraries for swords, axes, clubs, spears, and similar are not bulk-replaced. Combat stays closer to vanilla except where noted below.
- Bow and block feedback: Custom bow draw, bow release (root clip replacements), arrow impacts, perfect block, metal block, metal shield block, and wood block sounds — the main intentional combat-adjacent exceptions.
- Warfare / TW ready: Eleven
.txtfolder links route TW bow, arrow, block, and shield SFX groups to the same custom pools as vanilla (e.g.sfx_bow_drawTW→sfx_bow_draw,sfx_metal_shield_blocked_TW→sfx_metal_shield_block). - Life-sim and UI polish: Eating, equipping gear and armor, skill level-up, GUI clicks, forge repair, and door open/close/slam sounds.
- World and gathering: Tree chop, rock break, pickaxe swing, torch swing, thunder, and dragon wing flap.
- Haldor merchant voice: Custom greet, laugh, and "yea" lines for the trader.
- Troll creature pack: Full custom idle, alert, attack, hit, death, and attack-hit set for trolls.
- Movement touches: Custom dodge rolls and slope slide movement clips.
- Client-side: Audio replacement only; safe for multiplayer when all clients use the same pack
Installation (r2modman / Thunderstore)
- Install via mod manager like any other Thunderstore package.
- Launch Valheim — sounds load automatically from
BepInEx/plugins/MMOHeim-MMOHeimCustomAudio/CustomAudio/(exact path depends on your mod manager folder name).
Configuration
BepInEx/config/aedenthorn.CustomAudio.cfg — music/ambient volume caps and debug logging. This pack does not ship custom music; MusicVol has no effect unless you add files under CustomAudio/Music/ yourself.
