ReefPacks

The Reef's backpacks. Six packs, one per biome, worn in the cape slot; each one is a real inventory that travels with the item: drop it, die with it, put it in a chest, it keeps what is inside.

Install on the server and on every client. The server refuses a client that does not run the same version (Jötunn network compatibility). Players on The Reef get it through the TheReef modpack.

What it does

• Satchel (Meadows), Rugged Backpack (Black Forest), Bloodbag Wetpack (Swamp), Arctic Sherpa Pack (Mountains), Lox Hide Knappsack (Plains), Explorers Wisppack (Mistlands). Same recipes and upgrade costs as before; the grid grows with the pack's level.
• Open it: inventory open, press I (changeable in reef.packs.cfg). Press again to close. Option: open the pack every time the inventory opens.
• Weight: what is inside weighs 30 % of its real weight (server setting).
• Carry bonus while the pack is worn (+5 to +30 depending on the pack, server setting).
• Portals: a portal refuses you when a pack holds something that portal refuses, exactly like your main inventory. With AdvancedPortals the pack follows the portal tier.
• Crafting stations see what is in the worn pack (with AzuCraftyBoxes on the server).
• A pack cannot go inside a pack.

Coming from AdventureBackpacks

Nothing to do. The packs you already own keep their look, their level and their contents: the item names and the save format are the same. Remove AdventureBackpacks (and its Vapok library) from the profile; the two refuse to load together.

Not carried over yet: the biome effects (feather fall, demister, frost/cold, troll armour), the speed malus, the quick-drop key, the creature drops, the legacy iron/silver packs.
