A magical runic spawning basket, a gift from Njörd, the Vanir god of the sea, winds, seafaring and fishing. Ancient blue runes bless the waters with new life.

Features

• Build an illuminated woven fish-breeding basket using the Hammer's Misc category.
• Breed fish in suitable ponds when two fish of the same species are close to each other.
• Each newborn fish gets a randomized quality based on the mod's vanilla-style quality distribution.
• Soft wall avoidance for pond fish to help prevent them from leaving walled fish ponds.
• Look at the basket and press E to collect surplus fish; the system aims to leave two fish of each species in the water.
• English, German and Hungarian names, descriptions and interaction text (Hungarian display also depends on game language support).
• In-game configuration through BepInEx and the Gale config editor.

The buildable basket does not require the Food Preparation Table nearby.

Configuration

BepInEx automatically creates community.valheim.fishbreeding.cfg, including BreedingMinutes, MaxFishPerPond, RadiusMeters, ParentsWithinMeters and fish-containment settings. Default breeding interval is 30 real minutes; change it using Gale's config editor if desired.

These packages are declared as Thunderstore dependencies and should be installed automatically by compatible mod managers.

Installation

Use Install with Mod Manager on Thunderstore, select a Gale Valheim profile, and launch Valheim modded. Do not simultaneously keep a manually installed FishBreeding.dll in the same profile, because loading two copies can cause conflicts.

Important multiplayer testing note

Multiplayer harvesting has ownership safeguards: only locally owned pond fish are eligible for collection. Co-op synchronization and edge cases still require testing with multiple players before treating the mod as fully multiplayer-validated.

Version

The Thunderstore release number 0.1.8 identifies the packaging of the working internal code revision 0.1.7.2. Thunderstore manifests require a three-part version number.
