RustyHeathensServerQoL
Server-side Valheim QoL suite with AutoDoors, EternalFires, AutoProcess, cached matching-chest AutoStore, Rusty Backpack, and automatic chest-content lid labels.Rusty Heathens Server QoL
Server automation and Rusty Backpack support for the Rusty Heathens Valheim community.
Install and update
Install RustyHeathensServerQoL 0.5.12 on the server only. Install RustyHeathensQoL 0.5.20 on the server and all participating player PCs. Keep ModGuard 0.2.2, existing configs and player/world data. Close Valheim and stop the server before replacing DLLs; keep one active copy of each plugin in BepInEx/plugins.
What's included in 0.5.12
- AutoProcess requests an owner-approved handoff when a closed source chest and processor have different owners. The current chest owner refreshes, saves and verifies the contents, then grants ownership to the processor's existing owner using the native send/grant sequence.
- Processing refreshes a closed chest's saved inventory before feeding. A stale view no longer requires somebody to open or touch the chest to refresh it.
- The server checks both owners' updated-client capability and native active areas. Each station requests at most two handoffs per pass, with one outstanding handoff per chest and the existing ten-second lease plus three-second quiet interval.
- The handoff checks the recipient's private/ward permissions, required inputs, reserves and station capacity. Open chests, backpacks, graves, carts, Personal Chests and temporary containers are excluded. Handoffs move no items or UI state; feeding still verifies saves and rolls back failed transfers.
- Preserve the pickup scheduling fix from 0.5.11, food/consumable matching storage, backpack hammer guard, red markers, linked new graves and corrected inventory-panel height.
- AutoDoors, EternalFires and chest-content lid labels remain included.
AutoProcess setup
Enable AutoProcess. Put suitable fuel or input into a closed accessible regular chest within the configured processor range (default 4 metres for a new config). Keep more items than the configured reserve (default one of each). Existing settings, including the supplied session's 10-metre range, stay unchanged.
Both the current chest owner and processor owner must be ready, updated and able to load the station and chest for a cross-owner handoff. Unloaded areas wait for players to return and vanilla ownership to become available. No artificial interaction/open response or build hammer is used. Actual feeding happens after the receiving owner owns both objects.
Ground AutoStore
Seed a closed accessible box with one matching item, leave room for the whole stack and drop items within the configured range (default 20 metres). The default nearby-player grace period is 3 seconds. Updated chest owners must have both the drop and box loaded.
Distant, delayed and leased drops do not consume the eligible transfer budget. Inactive drops remain queued for returning players. Only one chest owner receives each drop lease. Matching/capacity/access checks, vanilla pickup consent, verified saves and rollback remain included. ownersOutsideLoadedArea identifies chest owners outside the drop or chest's active area.
Rusty Backpack
The server manages player-linked storage, progression capacity, canonical persistence and recovery. QoL provides the scrolling view, weightless integration and player-following host. New backpack graves stay linked beside that death's inventory grave; inventories and recovery transactions remain separate. Existing unlinked graves keep their positions.
Verification
Built against supplied Valheim 1.0.16 and BepInEx assemblies. 495 local logic/simulated behavior checks pass, including 83 AutoProcess ownership/refresh checks and all 29 pickup scheduling checks. The previous processing sources fail 14 of the new checks. Windows scripts were checked statically; no Unity or real multiplayer session ran here.
The supplied log still runs QoL 0.5.17 and ServerQoL 0.5.9. It contains repeated waits for vanilla source-chest ownership and continued successful pickup transfers. Rusty's pickup result when everyone is near supports a loading/ownership relationship, but does not identify every failing drop. Follow the combined live test, including having other players leave the area. AutoProcess, inventory-panel sizing and paired graves still await live confirmation. The reported carry weight remains unconfirmed and unchanged. Nothing was installed or published by preparing these packages.
