Not So Needy Crafting Station — Compatibility Edition

Unofficial revision 1.2.0 targeting Valheim 0.221.12.

Based on JoelOliMclean's original NotSoNeedyCraftingStation 1.1.2. This is not an official release by the original author.

Changes

• Removes the crafting-station roof requirement without replacing the entire vanilla usability check.
• Keeps vanilla fire requirements and other usability checks.
• Avoids the previous dependency on the internal m_haveFire field.
• Corrects the optional "Disable Rain Damage" behavior by setting m_noRoofWear to true when enabled.
• Retains the original plugin ID and configuration keys.

These changes are documented in the supplied compatibility notes. Other vanilla checks may still prevent use; this is not a blanket bypass of every shelter or station requirement.

Requirements

• Valheim 0.221.12 is the intended target; compatibility with other releases is unverified.
• BepInExPack Valheim (declared as an automatic dependency).

Installation

Mod manager

Install this package with a Valheim-compatible Thunderstore mod manager. Disable or remove the original NotSoNeedyCraftingStation package first. Start the game through the mod manager.

Manual

1. Close Valheim and install BepInExPack Valheim.
2. Back up your existing configuration.
3. Remove previous copies of NotSoNeedyCraftingStation from BepInEx/plugins.
4. Copy the DLL included in this ZIP to BepInEx/plugins/NotSoNeedyCraftingStation/.
5. Start Valheim.

Do not install the old and compatibility DLLs together: both use the same plugin ID. Your existing configuration remains applicable. No user configuration is bundled.

Validation and limitations

The DLL is included unchanged. Its SHA-256 matches the compatibility build recorded in the preceding work:

The preceding build notes report static assembly/IL validation. This packaging pass checked file identity and package structure only. No in-game test was performed. Multiplayer, dedicated-server behavior and later Valheim releases are unverified.
