Eternal
Diving for Valheim with an oxygen bar, and the Eternal helmet: a horned, finned Norse diving helm that lets you breathe underwater.Changelog
1.1.2 (2026-10-15)
- Rebuilt and checked for Valheim 1.0.20. Every game method Eternal patches is unchanged in this version of the game, so diving, the oxygen bar and the helmet work exactly as in 1.1.1. No settings change. The server and every player need the same Eternal version, and Valheim 1.0.20 on both sides.
1.1.1 (2026-10-13)
- Fixed a NullReferenceException that filled the log every frame in the main menu and while a world loaded, after leaving the previous world from the pause menu. It came from the game's own pause check, which Eternal's sounds called before the network existed. Nothing else changes: same settings, and players on 1.1.0 should update together with the server, as the versions must match.
1.1.0 (2026-10-13)
- Oxygen bar: a new bar from 0 to 100 above the stamina bar (above the eitr bar when it shows). It runs down while your head is underwater, also when you stay still, and fills again in 4 seconds out of the water. Depth, fast swimming, standing still and the Swim skill change the drain as they changed the breath cost before. About 50 s swimming, 100 s standing still.
- Holding your breath no longer costs stamina. Underwater, stamina only goes to swimming, as in vanilla. It still does not regenerate naturally underwater.
- Out of oxygen: you can no longer dive, you float up and, after the 3 second grace, you take drowning damage. Out of stamina underwater: you cannot dive any deeper but you keep your depth, and there is no damage while you have oxygen.
- The low-air warning (vignette, bubbles, heartbeat) follows the oxygen bar.
- With the Eternal helmet the oxygen stays at 100.
- The helmet grows two sea-serpent horns of whale bone with bronze collars and a glowing rune spiral, a dorsal fin with seven bone spines and two gill fins. Every player sees them, also on a helmet lying on the ground.

The old entries stay in the file with no effect and their values are not carried over. - The server and every player must update together: versions must match exactly.
1.0.0 (2026-10-13)
First release.
- Diving: Crouch to go down, Jump to come up, Run to swim faster underwater. The camera follows you below the surface, with underwater fog and tint.
- Holding your breath costs stamina, scaled by depth, effort and Swim skill. No natural stamina regeneration underwater.
- Low-air warning below 25 % stamina: vignette, bubbles and a muffled heartbeat.
- Out of air you float up, and after a 3 second grace you take 2 drowning damage per second. Vanilla exhaustion drowning still applies at the surface and never stacks with it.
- Dives train the Swim skill, with a minimum length and depth and a cooldown.
- Eternal helmet: free breathing underwater, 20 % cheaper swimming, half-speed stamina regeneration when still underwater, glowing runes, regulated breathing and exhale bubbles. Crafted at the forge level 3.
- Every gameplay value in a server-enforced config; English and Spanish translations;
eternal_givecheat command.
