Keep Rested
Keep your Rested buff after logout! Rested status and its remaining time come back when you rejoin the server or world. Fixes losing rested on relog, reconnect or disconnect. Only Required on the client side and works on singleplayer and multiplayer.Keep Rested
Keeps your Rested buff when you log out, quit, disconnect or leave a server. No more losing rested on relog. Come back to the same world and Rested is there again, with the time it had left when you went. The timer doesn't run while you're offline.
Client side only: the server and other players don't need it.
How it works
- Every time the game saves your character (logout, quitting, leaving a server, autosave), the mod notes how much Rested you had left, in your character file.
- When you join that world again, you get Rested back with that time left. If you're already Rested with more time, you keep the longer one.
- Dying drops it, the same as dying drops Rested in the game.
- Each world remembers its own Rested, and each character has its own.
Is it safe for my characters?
- The only thing it adds to your character file is one short text entry per world, in the space the game keeps for mods. It never changes your inventory, skills or anything else.
- Remove the mod and your characters load as normal; the game just ignores that entry.
- If a game update changes something the mod relies on, the mod switches that part off and says so in
BepInEx/LogOutput.loginstead of breaking the game or the save.
Settings
Edit BepInEx/config/austin.valheim.preserverest.cfg after the first launch, or use r2modman's
Config editor.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| General.RestoreInOtherWorlds | false | Off: Rested only comes back in the world or server you left it in. On: it follows you into any world, and only the latest Rested counts. |
Compatibility
Written for Valheim 1.0.16 with BepInExPack_Valheim 5.4.2351. Tested alongside Jotunn, Equipment and Quick Slots, Better Networking, Craft From Containers, PlantEverything, PlantEasily, QuickTeleport and Server Devcommands.
Problems?
Open BepInEx/LogOutput.log and look for lines from Keep Rested. Any line starting with Missing
says which part of the game it couldn't find and what that turns off.
