ValheimBubble
One key: swap to the Staff of Protection, bubble yourself and nearby allies, swap back to your weapon. Bubble countdown with a chime before it ends, plus Low Eitr and food warnings.Valheim Bubble
Press one key to cast a protection bubble without opening your inventory.
- The mod notes what is in your hands, down to the exact item.
- It equips the Staff of Protection from your inventory.
- It casts the staff. The game's own shield covers you and every ally in range.
- It puts your previous weapon (and shield) back, including holstered weapons.
Your armor is never touched.
A countdown under the status-effect icons shows the time left on your bubble, whoever cast it. A chime plays 5 seconds before the bubble runs out, so you can recast in time. When it runs out or breaks, the countdown flashes "Bubble down!".
When your Eitr food has worn down so far that your Eitr bar can't hold two more bubbles, a different chime plays and "Low Eitr - eat!" shows in the centre of the screen. It plays once, and is ready again after you eat.
Food warning: each food's health and stamina fade as it wears off. When a health or stamina food has faded to half its full value (about the last 10% of its time), a rising chime plays and the centre of the screen says, for example, "Low Health - eat! Cooked meat is wearing off". Each food warns once, and again after you eat it again.
Client-side only. Nothing needs to be installed on the server.
Requirements
- Staff of Protection in your inventory.
- Enough Eitr for one cast. If you are short, the Eitr bar flashes and nothing is swapped.

In Gale's config editor the keybind field records the key you press, including Ctrl, Shift or Alt. In the .cfg file write the main key first, then the modifiers: Keybind = A + LeftControl. With modifiers set, the key fires only with exactly those held, so F6 and Ctrl+F6 can be different things. In Valheim, Left Ctrl is also crouch by default, so a Ctrl combo crouches as well.
Notes
- The key does nothing while chat, the console, a menu, the map or your inventory is open, or while you're at a ship's helm, sitting or in bed.
- If you keep attacking or jump into deep water mid-cast, your gear comes back as soon as the game allows it.
- The chimes follow their own volume settings and the master volume, not the game's SFX slider.
- If the bubble breaks before the chime, there's no chime; the game plays its own break sound.
- The Low Eitr warning needs the staff in your inventory, since it counts in bubbles. It stays quiet if you log in already low or never eat Eitr food.
- Foods that only give Eitr don't trigger the food warning; the Low Eitr warning covers them. A food that is already low when you log in stays quiet until you eat it again.
- If you carry more than one staff, the highest-quality one is used.
