Valheim Portal View
Every portal you build takes a picture of what lies through it, and the portal linked to it shows that view in its ring.Valheim Portal View
Know where a portal goes before stepping through. Every portal you build takes a picture of the landscape seen through it, and the portal linked to it shows that picture in its ring.
Taking the picture
Nothing to press. A second and a half after you place a wooden or a stone portal, it takes a picture from its ring, looking back towards the side you built it from. The picture comes from the portal itself, not from your screen: your character, the interface and the portal are not in it, and where you stood does not matter.
Seeing it
Give two portals the same tag as usual. Each one now shows, in its ring, the picture taken by the other: the place where you will arrive. The picture follows the shape of the ring and sits under the swirl, which keeps turning on top of it. Retag a portal and its view changes with its link.
Portals built before the mod was installed have no picture, so the portals linked to them stay as they were.
Multiplayer
The picture is stored in the portal's world data, so it is saved with the world and every player gets it from the server. A player without the mod sees the vanilla portal. Pictures are only taken by players who have the mod.
