ValheimCraftingCompatibility
Compatibility for the supported original VikingCrafting 0.0.5 and WorkshopWorker 1.0.5 builds. Preserves WorkshopWorker automation while VikingCrafting handles recipe costs.ValheimCraftingCompatibility
Version 1.0.0 — an independent compatibility plugin for VikingCraftingAndQuickDeposit 0.0.5 and WorkshopWorker 1.0.5.
This plugin addresses overlapping crafting and manual storage-input hooks. With the supported original author DLLs loaded, VikingCrafting handles recipe costs and manual fuel/ingredient pulls, while WorkshopWorker retains its interface, automation, hotbar and unrelated hooks. Neither author's DLL or configuration is rewritten. With either mod absent, the plugin makes no changes.
Install with r2modman
- Close Valheim and open the Valheim profile you use in r2modman.
- Ensure BepInEx and the original VikingCraftingAndQuickDeposit 0.0.5 and WorkshopWorker 1.0.5 builds are installed. Restore earlier patched author DLLs using the originals in the separate restoration/source package.
- If you previously copied the compatibility DLL manually, move that copy out
of the profile's
BepInEx/plugins/ValheimCraftingCompatibilityfolder. Keep only one loaded copy of each plugin; store backup DLLs outsideplugins. - In r2modman 3.2 and newer, open profile management using your profile name at the bottom left and choose Import local mod. On older versions, look under Settings > Profile > Import local mod.
- Select
LocalPatch-ValheimCraftingCompatibility-1.0.0.zipwithout extracting it. Complete the import and check the Installed/Local mod list for ValheimCraftingCompatibility. - Launch using r2modman's modded launch option. Check
BepInEx/LogOutput.logfor both WorkshopWorker's normal loaded message andCOMPAT ACTIVE.
The LocalPatch author field identifies this local package separately from the
two author mods. r2modman manages its own installation folder, usually
BepInEx/plugins/LocalPatch-ValheimCraftingCompatibility. Let the manager keep
that folder name; the plugin does not require a particular folder name.
This ZIP contains only the compatibility DLL, package metadata, documentation, source and fixture tests. It does not include the original author DLLs. Install the required mods separately; do not rely on local import to fetch dependencies. Keep the earlier restoration package for its original DLLs and migration guide.
Check the result
| Log status | Meaning |
|---|---|
COMPAT ACTIVE |
The guards passed and overlapping WorkshopWorker hooks were removed. Test gameplay below. |
COMPAT STANDBY |
One author mod is absent; no compatibility changes were made. |
COMPAT NOT APPLIED |
A compatibility check or patch operation failed. Read the logged reason. Disable WorkshopWorker's [Crafting] Enabled setting or disable one mod before crafting with both. |
The failure warning does not disable either author's crafting automatically. Versions and SHA-256 hashes must match supported-builds.json. An unknown build is rejected even if its version number is unchanged.
Verify that WorkshopWorker's normal controls appear, linked automation still
works, and one craft produces the expected item for exactly one recipe cost.
Repeat with carried, chest-only and split ingredients, upgrades and multiple
crafts. Check cancellation, exact-stock and insufficient-stock cases, plus
manual machine inputs. An invalid-type AddComponent warning or missing
WorkshopWorker interface means the author mod may not have initialized.
Verification and updates
Mono/HarmonyX fixture tests passed; expected signatures were checked against the supplied original WorkshopWorker DLL. This separate plugin has not yet been verified in Valheim or Unity. The recorded test results are in verification/runtime-verification.json.
Updates to the author mods cannot overwrite this separate plugin. New builds still require review and testing; see source/UPDATING.md. Game, BepInEx and other-mod updates also require repeating the checks. Do not bypass the guards by changing a hash without inspecting the new build.
A local import adds the patch to your own profile. Public Online-list visibility requires publishing a package to Thunderstore. Keep this ZIP to distribute local test builds directly; do not assume profile sharing includes it.
Remove
Close Valheim and uninstall this local entry through r2modman. Disable WorkshopWorker crafting or one author mod before using both without the fix. Any earlier manually copied DLL must also be removed separately.
