Wire's Notification Overhaul

An improved notification system, inspired by the now unfortunately outdated mod NotificationsOverhaul (by blacks7ardev on Nexusmods). Basically a clean remake of that mod, no stolen code or assets were used.

Features:

  • Stacked left-side notifications with icons. Identical notifications merge instead of duplicating.
  • Valheim's large center-screen notifications can be moved into the same left notification stack. Potion/mead effects show a yellow notification when their consumed status effect naturally ends.
  • Optional skill XP-gain notifications; disabled by default. Optional current XP / required XP progress display for skill XP notices.
  • Configurable duration, maximum visible notifications, panel position, font size and text color.
  • Optional pickup-notifications-only mode.
  • Opening inventory hides and pauses the notification panel.
  • Configuration can be server-synced and locked by server admins.
  • Optional "Compact Mode"

1.0.57 — Compact repair notifications

When Compact Mode is On and center notifications are moved into the stack, successfully repairing an item now shows that item's actual inventory icon followed by "repaired" (lowercase). For example, repairing a shield displays the shield icon and "repaired", without repeating the shield name.

Normal mode keeps Valheim's full "Repaired [item name]" wording. The mod determines the actual item repaired by checking durability changes during the original repair action, so repairing several different pieces in succession still uses the correct icon. No changes to repair cost, durability, XP, sound, world state or normal game notification history.

Other notifications and user settings are unchanged. The in-game repair UI still needs a runtime test.
