🐗 HogRiders — Companion Mounts for Valheim 📝 Introduction

HogRiders brings rideable boar companions into Valheim that grow stronger as you progress. But these are not ordinary mounts — each Hog is unique to you.

🐾 Personal Companions – Each boar is tied to your Steam ID and remembers its name, stamina, and health.

⚔️ No Exploits – Unsummoning does not reset stamina or health. If your boar is exhausted or injured, it returns exactly the same.

🍖 Care System – Boars need to be well-fed and happy to regenerate stamina properly. A hungry boar will refuse to recover efficiently.

💀 Death Consequence – If your boar dies, there’s a chance the ring is destroyed, permanently losing the companion. Crafting multiple rings of the same type won’t bypass this — they will always summon your one true boar.

👹 Intended Behavior – Boars don’t attract aggro and won’t fight enemies unless you mount and command them. They are designed as loyal companions, not war machines.

🌍 Server-Friendly – Perfect for multiplayer servers without portals. Your Hog helps you travel long distances and gather resources.

✨ Currently includes 4 Boar Variants (with Mistlands and Ashlands variants planned in future updates).

🌱 Stage 1: Ridgeback Boar

(Starter, Meadows)

📖 Role: A loyal mount from the Meadows. Great for early travel and exploration.

⚡ Stage 2: Eikþyrnir Boar

(Infused with Eikthyr’s Essence)

1x Elder Trophy

1x Ridgeback Ring

25x Core Wood

📖 Role: A thunder-charged boar with antler-like horns. 🪓 Ability: Can chop Beech Trees using its tusks + horns.

(Infused with Bonemass’s Rot & Abomination essence)

📖 Role: A poisonous, jelly-like hog with immense toughness. 🪓 Abilities:

Tusks function like a pickaxe, able to break stone and ores.

Emits a poison aura that damages nearby enemies.

❄️ Stage 4: Chilltusk Boar

(Final Evolution — Frostbound Juggernaut)

Recipe:

30x Freeze Glands

1x Putrid Ring

📖 Role: A massive, frost-infused warhog, bigger and tougher than all before. 🪓 Abilities:

Can chop all trees

Can mine all ores + stone

Extremely durable, your ultimate Hog companion
